You can tell if the FCU switches were pulled or pushed based on what the AP is doing rather than by looking at their current position. The way I learned to fly Airbuses in MSFS was to never look at the FCU values, but at what the PFD and ND are displaying.
Exactly this. Itās actually quite a simple system when you get your head around it
My OCD has always flared up over that. It just seems so unnecessary. Simple logic dictates that all the switches would be in the same position for flight (and visa versa for off). Canāt fathom what Boeing was thinking when they designed that. Wonder if the same switches on later BA designs have the same silly orientation?
My favorite two manufacturer that make the tie for me is actually Embraer and Boeing
