Boris soundpack for PMDG 737

Hello all,

I have a question. I do like the Boris soundpack for the PMDG 737. But some sounds I do not like in the pack, like some kind of comment that is made when the 3rd observer seat is unfolded in the cockpit. So I do not want that sound.

Therefore my question: can you select or unselect all sounds in the pack? Because that is unclear for me, and I do not want to buy it if I do not know this.

If somebody knows, please let me know.

ORBX shows an image of the three sound options you can toggle (headphone simulation, pax chatter and hydraulics). There is no external app to control this and it appears no other settings can be modified.

Perhaps possible if you edit files. I have not tried.

Well if anyone has tried editing the files I would like to know that.

I do not like that sound very much when you extend the 3rd seat in the cockpit, some comment about Airbus or so. I would rather have that one not if possible.

For the rest the sound are a bit of an improvement I think, for a reasonable price.

If anyone have some more information to share, please let me know.

I cannot speak towards this specific soundpack and unsure of how it is installed but I have gone into other files to adjust (delete) sounds on other aircraft. If you can find where this soundset is installed, you could try opening the sound.xml file and look for that particular sound effect name. You could change the ‘Sound Wwisedata’ entry from ‘True’ to ‘False’. Again, I am only speculating as I have no idea how this soundpack is set up. Just an idea…and sorry just realized you have not purchased it yet!

Have you tried contacting Boris directly? He’s a super nice guy and really helpful. When I first purchased his S22 sound pack, I had a question about modifying it to be used with the Pilot Experience Maule because it was using stock files from another aircraft. He walked me through the process and thanked me for being a supporter of his products. Do a Google search of his products and you will see his information of how to contact him.
