It is now also saying that it is 260k for a Cessna 172 when I go to make a new company. The first time I bought one it was 24k. Is it supposed to be 260k? Is it quoting a new Cessna instead of a used one? The first company I made (A Cargo Company) was quoting a used Cessna 172.

Edit: When I try to buy used Cessna 172s now it says they are 200-400k so I guess they just give you the first one for 25k ish so that you can afford to make a company without doing a ton of regular missions. Makes sense. However you should make it so you can not sell that first aircraft for regular value.(~170k) It is basically a money cheat.

This is my assumption as well. This may not be a bug but a feature. Although I would agree they should flag your first plane and not allow you to make free money on it.

Yeah I softlocked my career because I sold my first plane.
Bought the Cessna for 25k and sold it for 170k thinking I could buy another Cessna for 25k. Well turns out only the first plane is cheap and now I’m stuck grinding 10x 3h cargo missions to maybe get enough money to buy a cessna again.
It shouldnt be possible to sell your first and only plane imo…

Same, considering doing a bunch of missions to gain more cash, or to restart my career…Neither seem very fun…

I think one of two things fixes this issue.

  1. The initial plane should be flagged in the background so the sell price is reduced to reflect that. This would not require any changes to the UI as the player would then be able to understand it is a starter plane based on economics.

  2. There should be a warning when you sell the starter plane that the price paid is not reflective of the market cost.

Personally, I prefer the first solution because any warning will have complicated language and be difficult to understand. This is an issue, but not a bug.

Ssshhhh. Dont tell anyone of this deal.

It is just a special discount for your first aircraft owned, or call it a gift… And calm down, this is not some MMO, but pure single player experience, even if it is a money cheat so what?
Actually, in many MMOs, gifted items can be sold with its original sell values anyway…

It’s not a money cheat as if you sell your first craft you cannot immediately buy another. I think K3HrN was being sarcastic and joking. The issue here is that it’s not clear and new players can easily make a mistake that bricks their career.

I bet you feel silly now after you found out that same plane at full price is 300K. LOL.
Don’t sell your almost free plane they give you. Because all the other planes your buying is FULL price. And the 172 is 250-300K

Calm down? Okay buddy. I clearly know that it is a single player experience and I do not care if anyone uses it, IMO you should be able to set your own money if you want too, or take a loan, even though it would kind of ruin the fun, it could be helpful for some of the bugs that are happening in this early time after release. Tbh I agree with @TheDusty01 . You shouldn’t be able to sell your first plane, that would fix the confusion completely.

The whole point of this bug report was not to stop people from being able to get some free money, it was to try to find a fix to make it more fun for other players. I guess that is a little hard for you to understand huh? XD

Same issue here, It is imperative to add a warning or prevent the sale of the first plane…

This is intentional - your first plane is heavily discounted.

Most used cessnas are between 200K-499K ( some almsot same cost as new cessna )

A new Cessna starts at around 499K.

I made the mistake of selling my first (discounted) Cessna and had to reset my career.

DO NOT SELL YOUR STARTER DISCOUNT CESSNA UNTIL YOU HAVE AT LEAST 300K IN THE BANK.

@Microsoft/Asobo - Please implement a feature which blocks user from selling a plane if they only own one aircraft as a safety for new users - perhaps lock the ability to sell your first plane until you can at least afford a 300K second aircraft.

No no no no … its not a bug… Never sell it, because its the only plane in this company that is such cheap…

Important question: Is only the Cessna 172 available with such a discount or is there a possibility to get other aircraft ( as long as I have the money and licenses) ?
So, could I grind something like 300k to buy a heavily discounted TBM 930, considering I havent bought the Cessna 172 yet?
Its kinda lame that this isnt explained anywhere
