Bought CESSNA 172 SKYHAWK (SP) today. Can't find it in SIM 2024

I am quite new to FlightSimming. So pls excuse if I don´t give more precise input:

I bought CESSNA 172 SKYHAWK (SP) (for the old dial instruments). Marketplace shows “STREAMED”. If I try to load it in SIM for “Free Flight” it is not contained in the Airplane list. If in Marketplace I click “MORE OPTIONS” for the plane it shows

I have no idea what this is and where to get it.

Additional info:

  • I restarted SIM (several times) and even booted system
  • I waited a while to give all servers and so on time to sync
  • I only changed - weeks ago - communityfolder to “Own Files” with entries according to

in “Streamed packages” I find a long list (I am showing only the top)

the top entry contains:
grafik

grafik

How can I get this plane to be shown in the selection list and hopefully to fly it after selecting it???

BTW.: with the exception of the (free) Aerosoft airport EDLP there is nothing extra in my SIM.

I hope somebody can give me a good hint.

Regards
Peter

Just to make sure, you are selecting “configure” on the plane selection page:

And then scrolling the line below the pictures of the variants to find the model you want to use:

Thanks for the info. This problem is solved by configuring “Basic”. It is flying as expected. I played around with configuration but somehow never tried “Basic”

==================================
Now I wonder: Why does Microsoft sell a CESSNA 172 SKYHAWK (SP) for 40 coins and then can´t even ensure, that the model can be used in SIM

strong text
So I paid “Money for nothing” or shall I say “for a nice error box”

No info how to fix this situation.

Does anybody know how to reclaim the money?

Which version of the sim do you own ?: standard / deluxe / premium deluxe / aviator ?
The C172 classic is included in the deluxe / premium deluxe / aviator versions.
If you own the standard version, this is correct to have to buy it.

To expand on Demented’s comments, If you have the Standard version, then you have the “FS24-FS-BASE-AIRCRAFT-COMMON” files. When you bought the add-on package you added the “basic” version of the plane (i.e. with the round gauges, and older versions of the Garmin systems (430/530)).
You didn’t see the “basic” version before you bought the add-on because it wasn’t there if you just had the standard version of the sim.

You were right. I am using the standard version. Things are running smoothly now.

I appreciate your support.

Microsoft should give this information to customers when they’re selling their products. They made it seem like I was buying a new plane instead of an add-on for an existing one. It was really confusing to see an error message instead of your explanation when I clicked “More info” in Marketplace.

Thanks again, and have a nice weekend.

Hi

I am having this issue - in SU3 Beta as of today.
I own the Premium Deluxe in 2024.

There is no standard 172 for me - i know about the configure and its not there and its not in the main list of all airplanes

yet there it is in my library (and it is active) - i stream everything

but not in a package

Resolved - turns out the TDS GTNXI mod seems to make the SP disappear for me - (i am referring to this…

removed it and all good

Hello,

The TDS GTNXi MSFS 2024 mod will not cause issues if the installation instructions are followed properly. On the same webpage where you have posted the link, we have a clear explanation:
" Important Note: The TDS GTNXi Pro SimAttachments for the 750Xi and 650Xi must be installed for these mods to function, for more information refer to the link below:"

As well as a dedicated link to assist users into properly installing the mods, so no issues would happen:

We feel like SimAttachments as part of MSFS 2024 are very powerful and we are very thankful of both Microsoft and Asobo for providing the functionality, but there are some limitation which we have to abide, hence the requirement to read either the website or the TDS GTNXi PDF manual.

We thank you for posting this, so other users can find the solution in case anybody else encounters the issue.
From the TDS side, we have made sure to code our programs to auto-detect such an issue and offer instructions so this can be resolved without wasting a lot of time and resources.

SimAttachments are a great step for the TDS GTNXi Pro! As always, please enjoy the TDS GTNXi Pro!

Just a small point - maybe it is clear somewhere in the documentation - the TDS manager does not recognise the Marcfx 172 mod, so the other two Marc mods where not there. Easily fixed for me - I just reinstalled the “Flight Simulator 2024” in the GPS Manager and the two Marc mods appeared.

thanks for your response here, much appreciated.

Hello, thank you for the clarifications, updating the TDS GTNXi Pro to the latest Gauge version of 3.0.0 or higher for MSFS 2024 will also install the “two mods”, the SimAttachments for the 750Xi and 650Xi
