This is a question about setting up the Bravo Throttle Quadrant to control the TBM 930 throttle. Once I move the throttle lever over to the right side using the prop lever it is in hi idle position. The throttle lever on my Bravo is at the idle position. If I pull it back through the detent it goes to idle cutoff position. The only way I have figured out how to move to Lo Idle is with my mouse.
Does anyone know how to configure the bravo to move the lever to Lo Idle?
From memory, I bound the go around button to decrease throttle. This moves the lever across the gate. Then pull the lever back to what would have been reverse if the throttle was on the active side. It then goes into cutoff. I will have to check when on the sim tomorrow & I remember to check it & get back to you.
Thanks for checking. I’ll be curious to see what you bound the TO/GA button to in order to move the throttle over the gate to the Idle side.
Do you have any success using the Bravo throttle to move from Hi Idle to Lo Idle?
Actually my real issue is moving from idle cutoff to Lo Idle using the Bravo. When I move my throttle out of idle cutoff it immediately jumps to Flight idle. The only way I can advance from idle cutoff to Lo Idle is with my mouse.
Below is a shot of my setup.
Note that I use throttle lever 2 position for my throttle.
I use the flap handle for the flaps and have bound the flap switch up (18) to engage starter & down to increase throttle (15). This moves the throttle from cutoff to low idle then hi idle each time the switch is pressed.
To move the throttle across the gate from idle to lo/hi Go around sw (10) is bound to “TOGGLE PROPELLOR REVERSE THRUST” With the throttle in idle pressing this moves the lever across the gate. It usually takes 2 presses to achieve this.
The start sequence is (assuming the throttle is in cutoff)
- Flap sw Up (starter eng)
- Flap sw dn around 20% ng (throttle moves up a bit)
- Flap sw dn again around 40% ng (throttle moves to hi idle but still in the start gate.
- Use throttle as normal from there.
Shutdown
- Throttle at idle
- click go around (twice) Throttle moves across gate
- Pull throttle back(engine shuts down)
Thanks for your setup. Works like a champ.
