Bright flashes in VR

In VR with TAA on (Reverb G2) I get bright yellow flashes every few seconds particularity visible at night. Really bright. It’s not linked to any lights - I checked. Just some weird artifact. Doesn’t seem to be there in DLSS (I think). Few of my friends are having the same problem and not all with the same headset I have (some in Reverb, some in Quest 3). Anyone with the same issue and hopefully a solution?

That’s just reminded me I suffered exactly this in 2020 - also G2 - but haven’t noticed it once in 2024.

If memory serves it’s linked to some post-processing effect.

Yes I also have this. I thought it may be a bug of the lights coming through it’s a lot worse at night I don’t notice it in certain planes in the day although mine are more white than yellow flashes which is why I thought it was strobes.

I have these flashes in 2020 but only with dx12 enabled. I only did a couple of flights in VR in 2024 but have not noticed any flashes. I have G2 and use TAA as well.

Exactly. This looks like a tessellation problem related to Directx12. Honestly I believe that dx12 behave like Beta still.

I had one too.
It helped me to set “Bloom” to “Off”.

I had the same happen to me. I thought it was the strobes at first and turned all lights off. Still had the flashes. I am using Quest 3.

That bloom off work around already exists in MSFS2020, who have thought they actually have fixed one thing…

I can’t find bloom option in 2024

Never had them in 2020. Pico4, 7900XTX

This is in the A400M at night, what the ever…

yeah, yellow streaking across in taa. mfs2024 is still a mess.

Yip. Unplayable at night. I turned off TAA. It’s blinding

FYI: there is a bug report on this problem: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/flashing-lights-near-bottom-of-field-of-view-in-vr/
