Bring back generic 'Quick Reload' in the Dev menu. Help modders out!

With the arrival of FS24, we have lost the ability to generically “Quick Reload” via the developer’s menu. In FS20, this was located under Tools > Behaviors/Behaviour Debug

FS2020:

FS2024:

This is a key feature that allows a quick reload of all current assets such that things like mods or other aircraft changes can quickly be assessed. As it sits, with every mod I do in FS20, I probably use Quick Reload 20-30 times or more.

Without this button in FS2024, testing each change would require a complete sim restart, making the entire process much, much slower to the point of questioning how viable it is at all.

I know there are ways to resync aka “reload from files” from within the simobject editor while a project is open but as these sort of changes don’t use projects, this doesn’t apply nor work outside of a project. I have searched through the dev menu extensively and tried various other options to see if I could force a generic aircraft resync/reload and have had no luck. I could have missed something and I really hope that’s the case.

If you have enjoyed basically any modded aircraft in flightsim in the past (ie things like my mods, Duckworks, the 307 mod, G36 enhancement, and hundreds of other mods over the vast history of flightsim), this should be of major concern and we need this function back. Without it, I worry modders would be chased away from modding entirely. I worry that that is the point.

edit: on top of this, a few years ago we lost the ability to resync liveries making life far more difficult for livery-makers. It was stated that this feature wasn’t “popular” and was quietly erased, never to return. Much like Reload has quietly disappeared.

Please fix this! This is very important to me as both a user of Duckworks, G36 improved, DA62X, etc… and as a creator of my own projects.

P.s. making it work for liveries again too would be great.

I am not a developer myself, but if this is slowing developers down, it hurts everyone. Sounds like a no brainer to bring this back!

I’ll add my support to CCM’s request. I value the creativity, technical and industry knowledge, and passion for aviation that CCM and so many modders bring to flight simulation. This change will help keep them working efficiently and allow ideas and progress to flow. Thank you!

Does “Live asset reloading” not work for you ?

No, that has no impact for local files it appears. I tried loading with it on or off and then turning it on and saw no changes at all

Yeah this is ABSOLUTELY needed! This will hurt the modding community pretty significantly.

Voted. We literally cannot work without this.

To put our handicap in perspective, I did some math:
Let’s say I do 1 resync every 5 mins:
= 12 per hour (I frequently hit 100 during flight modelling but let’s say it is avg)
= 96 per day (based on 8 hours work, which is more likely 12)
= 480 per 5 day week (more likely 6)
= 9600 for a 20 week project
Which, assuming 20 sec per build, equals 53.3 hours of time waiting for 9600 builds. End result is we can’t/won’t do so many builds and the quality of our work goes down (much less tuning) and frustration shoots up.

If all else fails I’ll continue to use 2020 as my RAD (Rapid Application Development) environment, doing all my FM stuff and coding there. Have been doing that as I can’t work in 2024.

As far as I’ve heard there was no mention of this in the dev stream nor much talk anywhere. Personally if I have to manually reload the entire sim in 10 minutes instead of hitting “reload” in-sim, taking 10 seconds, I question how much modding is actually worth it. I know I’m not alone here.

Please do us a favour and vote for this lost feature to return
