The Asobo A320 Airbus removed the barrier to entry for many people starting off with Airliners. Yes it’s not as accurate as the inibuilds A320neo but it’s still a lot of fun and I really miss it from MSFS2024. If you could impliment the preloading of the onboard computer it would be a lot nicer than having to go on simbrief and do all of this manually, And I’m not saying get rid of the Inibuilds v2 A320Neo either it has it’s place too but I think the v1 of the plane is also fantastic as a low barrier to entry.
I think the Max8 was supposed to be its replacement as you can take your EFB flight plan and insert it into the avionics in that. Just a shame it has a lot of bugs that render it not very flyable at the moment
What there should be is an advanced airliner training to teach you how to fly the Airbus’s - or maybe just a link to A330 driver’s YouTube channel
I’ve tried to watch a few MSFS2024 tutorials on how to fly the Inibuilds A320Neo but found it very odd to fly. After the first 20 minutes of cruising up to altitude the autopilot turns off and the aircraft then proceeded to stall. Managed mode doesn’t seem to activate after that and I’m ended up back at square one. With the old airbus I could push nav, vnav and flight computer and everything just worked. I know in reality that’s not realistic but I do miss doing those kind of flights I’m having to stick to small aviation until I can crack how to fly the airliners. I’ll give the Max8 a go.
I don’t have 2024 as I’m quite happy with 2020 at the moment, but yes, it should be kept. People sniff at it but it’s a great way of dipping your toes into the airliner water.
Voted.
In the PROG page, it tells you the maximum altitude you can fly at. But I never fly higher than 35000/36000. Reason being that the autopilot disconnect is quite sensitive and sudden changes in live weather on the sim can put the speed into the red if you are flying very high
You’re doing something wrong, I use the ini A320v2 on a daily basis and it works very well.
I don’t see any purpose bringing back the Asobo creation. You can spawn the Inibuilts A320 onto the runway and fly away with it just as easily. Maybe some better integration with the flight planner would help. The Asobo A320 was a flying doghouse.
The suggestion can be solved by just having better integration with the default flight planner on the side of the makers of it (I think the PC-12 has the same lack of integration issue), otherwise the ini a320 is a straight up upgrade and is far better than Asobo’s 737 max in terms of quality
Hi there, @kitakui @theLOLStar @Azlog if you’re interested, there’s a wishlist topic for integration with the default flight planner:
PS: This topic, “Bring back the Asobo A320 Airbus,”
That “flying doghouse” was the main aircraft I would fly in the game. I spent hundreds of hours flying the v1 A320Neo and yes it had its quirks but it made for a plane you could fly and just switch off from the world without it screaming .
I agree inibuilds aircraft should have integration with EFB. Just reduce the barrier to entry.
I was flying at 26000ft when autopilot disconnected then my aircraft went straight into overspeed. It wasn’t what I had planned.
Voted on your topic too as I believe this will also help but I do miss the A320 v1 especially its handling. Yes it wasn’t as good as the inibuilds but I still enjoyed its handling characteristics
Voted Yes. I’m not afraid to say that the default A320N was my crutch into FS2020 after being so used to the 2D panels in FSX, Ctrl + E to start engines, NAV mode, sit back and autopilot it etc. The inbuilt checklists helped me a lot. Now I can set up the Fenix A320 blind folded.
Bringing this back will help newcomers make the transistion to more complex jets, thus continuing to add to our community, which is good for the future of the franchise.
I don’t think they’ll bring it back as they specifically have a partnership with Inibuilds for the A320 and other Airbus models.
Well said!!
I don’t agree with this. Asobo A320neo only does for newcomers is create a lot of bad habits and prevent them from really getting involved in learning how to properly configure and fly an airliner.
As an example, it’s been 4 years since MSFS2020 and you haven’t made the transition from the “flying doghouse” to a better simulated A320neo.
We agree that the manual should be more detailed, that Asobo should include a better tutorial on how to fly an airliner, even that the integration with the EFB should be better, for those who want to use it (for my part I still prefer Simbrief, especially since the EFB doesn’t have the fuel consumptions in its database to do the calculations).
Fortunately the community solved the training problem for new pilots with different youtubers (A330 driver’s one of the most recommended). The only thing needed is patience to watch several videos.
Maybe to start with, but after a while I think people naturally seek out something more realistic. The whole beginning for me, way back to FS95, was, can I take off, fly somewhere and land? The inbetween bits came after. Does that make sense?
Can you elaborate on what you mean by this?
Definitely. It should cater for all types of simmers. Me personally, I prefer to do than read a 400 page manual, but I might do that if I have a spare 20 mins. That said, more power to those folks that prefer that.
It’s all I watch on YouTube, always looking to learn new things. Emi is brilliant, love his humour.
Not for me, I believe (and it is my opinion, so I may or may not be wrong) that it only creates bad habits.
I mean, if there are people, after 4 years, who ask for a terribly bad airplane to be put back in the simulator, it is because they are still clinging to an airplane with a very poor flight model, 3/4 of the systems unmodeled, with a flight computer that requires no configuration to fly other than TOGA and takeoff.
It is easy for me to see that a newcomer does not benefit from such simplicity but rather acquires many bad habits that he cannot shake off.
And it’s important to understand that I don’t blame the simmers who ask for it.
Just let it go, may the doghouse rest in peace. LOL
Guess what? Some people don’t want to!
I love this guessing game but you know this is the point where I don’t care.
