Bring back the night world map from 2020

I don’t understand the changes. In 2020, when it’s night, it is also night on the World Map:

Now in 2024, when it’s night, the World Map looks like it’s the middle of the day:

It also breaks the smooth transition between map and in game when clicking Fly.

Hello @Flobud,

There is a still a visible day/night cycle on the World Map in MSFS2024. You can clearly see the terminator in the screenshots below.

I’m happy to pass on to the dev team if you’d like to make this visual feature more prominent, though.

Thanks,
MSFS Team

That is a good proposal, with the lighting of the big cities as a contrast. Best regards.

I don’t know what to say. At least in 2020 you know when you’ll flight during the night. Now this isn’t obvious at all. I don’t even understand the logic behind having a fake no-night on the world which is supposed to represent the real world.

And as I said, this choice also completely breaks the new seamless transition between the world and in game when clicking start flight.

I could understand players who wants to perfectly see what they’re doing even at night, but in that case this could have been a layer option maybe. But removing it completely is a really weird decision and a big regression.

The clouds also disappeared and I haven’t found out how to bring them back.

They are disabled by default, even with live wx on. You gotta enable them in the filters on the right hand side of the world map

Thanks, I found them a bit earlier. The UI is so bad that I didn’t know we could click on Advanced.

I loved the pitch-black look with the city lights!!

I wanna see it brought back.
