I agree with you on the bridge. That’s poorly done. You can raise that via the ZenDesk.
I’m not sure what you were expecting. Just because 3D imagery exists, it doesn’t automatically mean it will be included in a World Update. Technology hasn’t progressed that far to be able to include all that automatically. It still has to be done by hand. AND more importantly there’s copyright to consider. I’m sure there never will be GoogleMaps content included directly by MS or Asobo.
It’s simply not realistic to expect everything to be perfect. At least 95% of all buildings in the UK are still automatically generated. And this most likely won’t change in the near future. However, I’m sure both satellite imagery and the autogen algorithms will improve and stuff like cooling towers, churches, chathedrals etc will be regonised some day. Some castles already are!
Nevertheless there will always be something missing, or something wrong. I have never come across anything really ludicrous so far, which is a good sign that the auto gen is really working well.
If you’re looking for something specific, there are literally hundreds of mods out there already which convert Google 3D to MSFS or add hand-made objects. So if you’re missing something vital check here:
www.flightsim.to
Ironbridge Power Station is included in this package.
On my install, it does not matter how many times I reload the sim, the bridge just got wrong elevation data.
The flightsim.to version is way better but I could not locate the bridge files in the update to remove it.
It is still elevated after a reload, but not to the degree that was shown in your image. It has dropped down maybe 30ft.
As I say, this is not an issue with that bridge, or the UK update either. It happened for me at Monument Valley, and after a reload the formations were lowered below the surface. This model just needs to be lowered a little further.
It does make me wonder on whose workstation this looked right. I doubt they looked at what we are seeing, and thought it correct. It’s not terrible by any means, just sloppy. Perhaps the designer was basing it’s placement with different terrain height for some reason. Now that I think of it, I didn’t check my close in view with PG off, or even Bing data off.
This is a way better representation with traffic implementation as well Clifton Suspension Bridge, UK • Flight Simulator 2020…and it fits perfectly! Unfortunately to be able to use it I have to uninstall the poi package !
