Brunner vs FliteSim.com yokes

Hi all,
I attended the FSWeekEnd in the Netherlands on Saturday and was able to test the CLS 60 on a c172 in xplane . It was very cool but I felt backlash and the control was made of small jolts and bumps rather than being 100% smooth. The PC itself was on the rather low end with freezes every now and then. Is this the usual behavior or can I expect a better feel with a different config?

Additionally, has anyone also tested the Brunner Yokes? How do they compare?

Thanks!

Antoine.

Owning the CLS-E MK2 Rudder Pedals and the CLS-E MK2 Joystick Base (with a Virpil stick on top), I’d go Brunner again any day. I’m gonna replace my HC Alpha with the Brunner CLS-E MK II Yoke soon to finalize the setup. Brunner’s configuration software is slow and feels like Windows 95 software but once you “got” it you can tweak all kinds of things. Not the cheapest gear though…

I suspect if the action wasn’t as smooth as you’d like it was more likely to be down to the software and/or the PC; the hardware will be capable of smooth motion.

I saw the FliteSim.com booth but didn’t get to sit down to try them. I was certainly impressed by what they’ve done and by the session from the founder talking about the new products (the pedals in particular). I’ve researched Brunner and they’re certainly the default choice for the high-end but that comes with a steep price. You’ll find a couple of threads on the forum talking about Brunner if you search.

I may well pre-order the FliteSim.com pedals to get a discount, and then get the yoke, and eventually the side-stick; from what I can see you’re talking <50% of the equivalent price from Brunner.

Edit: one thing I don’t like about either of them is the yoke handle. In both cases it’s plastic, and neither design really suits me. However with both I suspect it would be possible to fabricate an adapter to put the Beech-style metal yoke handle from my PFC yoke on them, so that would be a day 1 goal.

I have a brunner yoke and absolutely love it. It feels smooth as anything.

It has completely changed my flying.

I have both a Brunner CLS-E and a Flitesim.com CLS 60 and have totally replaced the Brunner with the Flitesim.com yoke. The software is easier to set up and use, the yoke feels more realistic in my opinion ( although much of that is down to the software). I don’t experience the jolts and bumps you mention. While neither offering is perfect for the price difference i will go back to Flitesim.com when it comes time to replace the yoke or if i move to a stick ( when they release theirs).

Thanks to everyone, I’ll order my FliteSim.com yoke then !

I have the cls60 yoke mounted in the FC50 panel from flightsim. Smooth as silk and the quality is awesome. The yoke cover is plastic but feels of high quality and flightsims software is brilliant with regular updates. Ask them a question on discord and its likely the CEO himself will answer you in minutes. Match that service competition.

I also use the CLS-60 from FliteSim and it’s a great Yoke.
One big plus is how Fabian handles the requests, he implemented support for the A2A Comanche wich is my everyday plane so this was critical. Brunner didn’t care about this after many month of requests from the community .

Yes the handle is Resin, but just the shell , the inner structure is full metal.

Of course its not perfect yet as MSFS doesn’t support FFB natively so every effect is a workaround (Like software trim needs to be more accurate ) but the software still grows and the feedback is getting better and better.

On my end I can 100% recommend the FliteSim Yoke

Thanks guys, ordered yoke expected next week  haha can’t wait to receive it !
Thanks for your help
