Price vary from region to region, and I dunno what it’s like in your geography. In Europe, a used RX 6800XT in perfect condition can be found for around 250/350 euros, it performs better than a 7800XT in some situations, which means it’s no slouch.
The issue with A770 is indeed some older games are not supported, for MSFS it’s a fine choice.
So if you want a budget card that can also run older games, a used RX6800XT with 16GB VRAM may be an option. Of course, it does not have all the Nvidia bells and whistles, and does not perform as well in RT, so it’s a compromise…
I think the AMD x3d cpu’s with the additional level 3 cache are most important these days as that cache will improve the sim immensely. That’s why a 7800x3d can compete (or do better) than the Intel 13900/14900 chips. No need to turn off multi-threading on those CPU’s also.
Yeah I live in New Zealand so selection is slim. Plus we always pay a bit more because we’re in the middle of nowhere.
I just checked on our version of ebay/craigslist and I only see a single 6800 XT and they are asking way too much.
No ARC A770’s in stock anywhere that I can find.
