[BUG LOGGED] Turboprop ITT simulation still way off

Only two spools are supported by MSFS.

For you to get a better idea of how MSFS is simulating engines, you can take a look there : http://web.archive.org/web/20070101161011/http://www.mudpond.org/jet_flow_chart.pdf

Caution, because this was the reference for older versions of MSFS and things might have changed. My feeling is that it didn’t change that much, more like they added more parameters. This is conjecture as we don’t know exactly how it works.

My thinking is the following : in the process of writing and experimenting with the sim at the same time.

EDIT : after more experimenting, I’ve found more bugs about the turboprop simulation : weird prop governor behaviour, unable to fully feather the prop. One or more videos will be coming to illustrate the problems.

In other words what we need is a separate power turbine, only powering a fan or propeller and not combine with a low pressure compressor as is the case with most twin spool turbine engines. This is also needed later for turbine powered helicopters I assume. On a free-turbine the engine doesn’t give a … what the propeller load is as there is no physical connection to the compressor section. I wonder how they did solve the over-ITT when feathering, I believe that problem has been fixed?

So after more time thinking about this, I don’t this would work.

Fixed in the Sim Update 6 1.20.6.0
