It’s wonderful that we now have Bush Trips in 2024, but there is a glaring geographical gap in the offerings available: Africa!
Such a huge continent, diverse in population, geography and culture, being completely absent from the Bush Trip list is a massive missed opportunity.
While there are wishlist items for world updates covering this part of the world, Bush Trips could definitely be added separate to the relatively larger undertaking of map overhauls.
Please add some Bush Trips covering North, Central and South Africa.
I agree completely. I would also add that all scenaries and landscapes in Afrtica are very neglected and poorly done. Africa deserves a better treatment. I can understand that certain conditions in that continent makes creating good screnarios a difficult task, but I’m sure that it can be improved from what we have now.
Actually there is a ton of really good African scenery. I’ve done a lot of flights from Europe to Ghana and Nigeria and a lot of the default topographical scenery is absolutely stunning actually. Flying over mid- to southern Algeria, the landscape is absolutely amazing. I’ve also done some flying around Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania and the scenery there is rich and vibrant.

None of this is to say Africa couldn’t be better and doesn’t deserve more attention: it does. But even as it is now, it’s an amazing place to fly, enhanced even more by some fantastic freeware creators
Generally speaking, Bush Trips are added along with World (and sometimes City) Updates - so I would not really expect default Bush Trips to cover areas of Africa until/unless they add a World Update for Africa. That would be fantastic on its own, but seems unlikely given the availability of high-quality data in that region.
True enough, but there’s no set in stone rule this has to be the case. The disparity is so high between places like Europe and Africa it would be great to make up some of that gap outside of world updates. Surely it’s not that much work to make flight plans and write logs?
Maybe because this continent has never had a world update there are no bush trips. The official 2024 scenery is not optimised sadly. It has such great potential for bush trips and career mode.
I’ve got some of your bush trips and they’re fantastic, but still I miss the possibility of changing the aircraft. Anyway I’ll go for the Nile one sooner or later.
I finally have found how to change the aircraft: enter Devmode, Menu Tools → Change Aircraft and choose the plane you want. Is as simple as this. Unconfortable but effective. Now I can go for the Nile.
Adding South Africa to this, since it hasn’t come up yet in the thread. I worked in the country for years, and the Garden Route is made for a bush trip — George to Plettenberg Bay and on towards Gqeberha, mountains on one side, sea on the other, with small strips the whole way along. The Lowveld around Kruger would be another natural one: Hoedspruit, Skukuza, and the climb up the escarpment to Graskop. And if an African World Update ever happens, the Wild Coast between East London and Port Edward is as remote and spectacular as anything already mentioned here. Until then it all flies surprisingly well in the sim as it is.
South Africa and the rest of Africa need World updates to truly appreciate the scenery, fauna and flora available. Bush trips would be seriously enhanced too if we had a Parks update like they did in the USA. I wish folk could hear and smell the continent - there is nothing more evocative than the scent of the grasslands. The scent of the cooking fires from the Boma’s, the sound of the cicada crickets. Sadly these cannot be included in a bush trip but the updated visuals would be great.
That’s a great idea, and I’ll add it to my to-do list. I’m always open to suggestions like this and appreciate ideas, since I often find myself in situations where I have to ask: “What do you do next?” Right now, though, I’m still very busy upgrading more than 150 missions for FS24. That’ll take another 2–3 months. Since you’re familiar with that, I’d really appreciate it if you could suggest some routes for these BTs and send them to me in a PM.
