Wondering if anyone has a better set of settings for various aircraft, particularly if you happen to know what some of these “feel” like in the real world vs the settings.
The butter kicker frequency dial is around 80, not sure how to tell what volume the actual unit is set to
At a baseline i think the settings are set to 50% across the board … i think i’ve turned the geffect off on most profiles though.
Not sure for instance in the c152, how strong the motor vibrations should be felt inside the cockpit ?
I came up with these for the cessna 152, for instance, the flaps movement even at this high, i dont feel it per say, but i can “hear” the vibration, not sure how much real feeling is in the real cockpit:
It will vary a lot depending on your shakers; how many, where placed, etc. Also, most GA planes, even the same model, will be different. I’d just modify to your liking.
Heh I just use mine straight up hooked to the audio with a DAC and find it just about perfect provided the aircraft has good sounds. Just adjusting the remote volume as needed, and usually that’s more per game or sim than individual things within the sim. Thought I would tinker more on PC but just never felt the need to.
The thunks and bumps depend more on the audio quality of a given noise, like FSW gear clunks or engine shut down prop shudders or the Kodiak’s doors that make you feel like you should get out of your chair now.
Try the cutoff set around 50-55, 80 is probably too buzzy. I use the same for driving and flying(have one on each seat). I don’t touch it for banshee flying in Avatar either, other than volume. Haven’t touched the amp in years other than replacing the defective diode on the older 130 one. Nor do I change anything but volume between PC and XBSX, COD or F1 or MSFS or LEGO Star Wars.
Maybe when I go motion and put 4+1 on the racing rig?
No settings are going to make garbage sound sets like the EMB110 better. And just about everything Carenado or better is just fine(although the 337 exterior sounds are a bit maddening)
I switched over to SimHaptic over a year ago and it has a broader and IMO more realistic vibration effect set than SimShaker. It is also doesn’t lag or drop out vibrations completely sometimes like Simshaker used to do.
