Buttkicker?

Thinking of adding a buttkicker to my chair. Which one is everyone using? And what amp? Is there anyway to make it wireless? Open to all advice! Thx Roger

Here’s the one I got and how I set it up.

Right now the current version is The Gamer Pro.

I don’t believe there are any wireless options as you also need to get power to the unit and there aren’t any battery operated ones that I’m aware of.

Don’t totally discount the DIY option before pressing the trigger on the Buttkicker.

I have two 50w bass shakers connected to 2 separate amps connected to my chair and it is pretty good. The two amps are probably overkill but offer easy expansion for more speakers if I want. To be honest my knowledge of electrics, amps and resistance was a bit sketchy but it was fun getting it up to speed and setting it all up. For the record I also had to buy speaker wires, a USB soundcard and bass shaker software so in the end it probably wasn’t that much cheaper than the Buttkicker option.

The easier option, though, is the Buttkicker and was an option which admittedly tempted me for a while.

You can pick up two Aura Pro transducers for around $100. For even cheaper you can pick up two Dayton BST-1’s. I’ve never used the Dayton’s, but I have two Aura Pros (one bolted under each butt cheek).

I bought my Aura Pro’s in a bundle with a 2 channel 150watt Dayton amp, https://www.parts-express.com/Dayton-Audio-APA150-With-2-Aura-Pro-Bass-Shakers-Bundle-300-9004

Here is the same bundle with BST-1’s, https://www.parts-express.com/Dayton-Audio-APA150-Amp-With-2-BST-1-Bass-Shakers-Bundle-300-9018

Aura Pro, Aurasound AST-2B-4 Pro Bass Shaker Tactile Transducer

BST-1, Dayton Audio BST-1 High Power Pro Tactile Bass Shaker 50 Watts

This will give you an idea of what is available on the market, Exciters & Tactile Transducers

I plan on adding two more, smaller, transducers under my rudder pedals. The ones on my seat shake my seat, stick, and throttle.

Definitely would encourage you to look at DIY options.

I do a lot of sim racing as well as flight sims and use Sim Racing Studio to drive my shaker setup. The software can drive up to 6 pucks individually of each other. It can also save a profile per plane, so on something like a single engine you can have the most of the engine vibration come from a shaker in front of your setup and the G forces acting on the wings come from pucks on the appropriate side of you seat.

The same software can also drive things like fans, varying the speed based on your speed in game, Motion platforms Tensioner belt systems to simulate G forces etc.

You can end up with a much more immersive setup for the cost of a single Buttkicker.

I have the Buttkicker Gamer 2 with Simshaker for Aviators and associated payware sound module software. I use the amp that comes with it. It is not wireless, nor should it be because of the amount of power it would draw.

I am very happy with the effect it produces and the immersion it provides.

Just bought Buttkicker gamer plus..Little confused, will BT Haptic work with MSFS2020 or do I need to on BT plugin for MSFS? If I hook up the usb to micro usb that was included, do I still hook all of the other wire included…BTW. I also use powered speakers. Thanks for any suggestions. Roger
