I have access to FS2020 Standard Edition through GAME PASS, if I buy the Premium Upgrade through the game (which is on discounted price) , do i still have to have GAME PASS subscription to play?

Not from an official source, but I think unless you purchase the standard version, you would still need Game Pass.
