C-17 Globemaster

Are you able to please add the white nav light on the rear of the wingtip, it seems to be missing in this update, other than that, great work!

Thank you for this.

I need assistance with a few things from you, or anyone on this post.

1.This is a super aircraft, but where is the navigation panel on this one? I flew in GPS mode but it did not follow the path. And I did not know where to find the map on the avionics panel.

  1. I set the altitude to 15,000 and climb rate to 3,000 ft/min, but it went as high as 6,000 on its own and the aircraft kept going into a stall. I tried this several times and each time it didn’t climb as intended.

  2. The sounds are too loud. One cannot hear the ATC over the ambient noise.

Please advise. Thank you.

Can’t locate the APU door button. EFB manual no help. Can someone please provide info? thx

The APU Door is the APU Inlet, on the right side of the aircraft. You can see it right above the inlet. Make sure your APU is off before attempting a take-off.

will this come out for xbox users too? xbox users are often left out

that would be great, but it is seriously doubtful, its been around for a good while now and no traction towards console release, another dev cancelled their C17 because this was making good progress, i guess console just wont get a C17

That’s a shame. Hope that changes sometime.

We have not ruled out completely an Xbox release, it just is something we plan on looking at more seriously once we have a fully completed PC release. Developing for one platform is time-consuming enough

Some new screenshots of the latest work - cockpit has been overhauled with the front panel being within 0.5 inches of the real deal, and the modelling has been nearly completely re-done to a much higher standard.

This is a small comparison of our model from a year ago to what we are working with right now.

Really Hope you guys do the Xbox version. As an end user, we miss out on a number of items when not on PC.

Recently I had the chance to download the latest version of this aircraft and fly it for the first time in a year. OMG, what a difference. The cockpit looks SO much better. The exterior I would already give a 10/10, I know there are minor glitches (noticed some weirdness in the engine fans) but other than that, it’s gorgeous.

The cockpit textures were such a good surprise. I would say the one that needs the most work right now is the beige “default” texture of the cockpit frame, it feels like it could use more a bit more detail, although it’s already good. Nothing else really bothered me.

The engine noise in the cockpit seemed super loud, is that how it is in the real aircraft? I could really use some clickable noise-cancelling headphones, like in the VisionJet.

I encountered some flight model glitches where the plane was flying erratically after takeoff, I will have to do another full flight to see if it works any better with the latest update. I would very much like to get to know the FMS really in depth, is there a tutorial video or documentation somewhere on how to setup everything? It looks similar to the 737 (I don’t fly the 747, not sure if it’s based on that). How realistic is it for a C17, is the real one basically taken from a civilian aircraft?

I saw some older videos of this mod where the EFB has a map displayed on it. The 4.x version I installed recently didn’t have any map on the EFB, was that removed?

The Destroyer121 / Delta Simulations C-17 is not just OK anymore, it’s great. Here’s a full flight I did today:

Still no c17 on Xbox tho

I tried installing it. It currently resides in E:\Spiele\FS2020\Community\deltasimulations-c17 (where all my other stuff is as well), the two files in that folder are layout.json and manifest.json, among a set of other folders including SimObjects.

Windows says in the “Properties” dialog of deltasimulations-c17 that it has 2.079.865.665 Bytes in 1299 files and 69 folders.

Looks correct to me but neither MSFS nor AddonLinker recognize the aircraft when I start them.

Does anybody have an idea?

Where did you get it from? Download the latest 4.1.5 from the Github, and ask for help in their Discord if needed.

I got it from flightsim.to first, although I did also download it from github after the first attempt failed. Seeing that both archives have exactly the same size and content, I deleted the github one again.

Yeah, I will try Discord, thanks. I hate it because I can’t figure out how it works. Somehow we’re not compatible.

Edit: by now I found out that there must be an issue unrelated to the C-17 installation.

Hi, saw that you posted then deleted a message on our server. I assume that you found the issue? If it was an addon please let us know so I can contact the creator and make it a known issue for other users

Last time I flew it (the latest release as of a couple weeks ago), the engines in external view are really really loud. Is it just me?

They are loud. I got used to it somehow, maybe I just turned down the volume.

I couldn’t see the C-17 after installing it correctly into the community folder and sought for help. After realizing that a second aircraft was also missing. though, I realized the problem had to be somewhere else. And it was - for some reason I had two MSFS installations on my PC on different drives. and I added the C-17 to the inactive one. After finding that out and moving it to the correct installation, everything’s fine. I deleted the duplicate installation afterwards.
