Yes, they are so loud you cannot hear the ATC transmission.
still dont have a c17 for xbox users after all this time
Why do you keep repeating this?
Did you read the response? Youāre not going to see one for the foreseeable future from this developer. For a number of reasons. For instance, Microsoft is only just now starting to allow new developers into their network. Then is the problem that there is no freeware library for Xbox. Then they said they are waiting for it to be finished on PC before they even contemplate bringing it to Xbox.
Just tried the latest version (4.4) and Iām impressed! It improved greatly since the last time I tried this mod. Great work!
And I know this is still in development but for me thereās basically one thing that needs to be improved in order to make this C-17 āfully playableā which is:
- Implement/Fix the ILS and VOR navigation. I know thereās a button named V/L on the coms/nav panel which allows this but when pressing this button the ILS/VOR information on the PDF and ND pages only appears for a very brief time (less than a second) and then GPS nav information comes up again.
- In the sequence of the point above it would be great to implement (make it working) the selector which allows the selection between GPS, VOR/ILS and even ADF navigation.
Oh and one more thing: It would be cool if TACAN worked properly (since this is a military aircraft)
Why do you have to minimize a desire for a good aircraft and be condescending.
He is not condescending. He is pointing out reasons why this specific C-17 by Delta is unlikely to appear on XBOX any time soon and you just keep ignoring any such responses and Iāve seen this happen on many threads with your posts.
We all understand by now that you want any addon on XBOX and you want it on release day.
Conversations are a two-way street and you might want to be willing and acknowledge all the input many people give you here about the current realities concerning XBOX and MP instead of ignoring us and just repeating the same demands over and over.
PCās are a pain, very costly for a good machine compared to Xbox. Gotta manually deal with community folders, virus software, and more. Iām an Apple guy, things are easy. Xbox is pretty easy. But the discrepancy between flight sim and Xbox is a bit disappointing given Microsoft makes both. They could do better to make it compatible.
I have no idea why you think Iām being condescending.
Itās fine to ask for it once. Which you did, and he answered youā¦ Then 4 more times you posted requesting the author to act differently than he said he would.
So I asked why you keep requesting it, even though you got your answer and you responded to that answer asking him to change his mind.
Iād love to see it come to Xbox, but, constantly asking for it isnāt going to change reality for you. In fact, itās more likely to make him not care (not that I mean in any way to speak for the author).
Iām not trying to convince you to switch platforms, I love that itās on Xbox, it makes the software more likely to be continue to be developed by Microsoft, and it vastly expands the user base. Unfortunately, there are certain security based realities restricting the access of developers to create DLC for the platform. I wish it were different.
If you want a C-17 for Xbox, I suggest you create a wishlist thread for it. You have your answer from this author.
I donāt understand this comment. The software is the same on both. The problem is that Xbox is bound to the Marketplace, and they are struggling to bring any products to it, not just freeware products. The list of payware developers whoād like to release products but havenāt been accepted to the Marketplace is huge. After 4 years, MS is finally starting to add new developers. But the process is maddeningly difficult (Iām a beta tester for one of them thatās finally being allowed in, and he was developing for MS since day 1). They investigated creating a freeware Marketplace, but in the last Dev Q&A, Jorg said itās not going to happen, itās just too much work and too costly for them. He did promise to make sure a few freeware products be added to the standard Marketplace based on votes from the community. I suggest you find the Wishlist thread for that and voice your opinion. Your constant requests are falling on deaf ears here. Not that we donāt care, itās just that itās not going to happen.
Thank you. I apologize.
Its not just the task of creating an xbox compatible vesrion either. Yes it needs to be different, needs to be lighter on RAM etc but once its released its the continual upkeep, the infinate updates that may or may not make it stay xbox compatible, then there is the issue of Sim issues complicating the transition and the SUs that fix with one hand and break with the other.
Im also on xbox. Id love a C17, i was gutted when Deano delayed his and eventually cancelled the project to give Destroyer a better start with his (nice chaps do nice things)
But you have to accept, its NOT YOUR CHOICE if this becomes xbox payware, there is so much more to that decision than just ingesting it into the marketplace.
Fair enough. Maybe one day someone will make it. I read on DC Designs Facebook some time ago they alluded to another dev making one but due to Non disclosure they couldnāt say more.
Which is what i said above, DC set it aside so this one had a better chance to become a full product eventually. This C17 is a great project, hugely popular with majority of milsim groups who inturn further its development.
Once it reaches it development pinnacle im sure it will become a payware product which it will rightly deserve, but not yet, its not polished enough
I didnāt now who Deano was, in relation to DC
Heās the D!
Got it
Hi all,
Lots of fantastic work has been going on over the past couple of months.
Major work has been done with the fuel system, with a now fully custom, automated fuel transfer system in place. This has been created with the help of our SMEs, and will automatically balance the aircraft over your flights.
We have also made significant strides in our cockpit and cargo models, with a new cargo bay door model, including functional and animated downlocks. We have also overhauled our textures for a higher resolution. One of the key visual differences youāll see in the new aircraft is the station markers. Spaced every 10 inches, they will allow us to line up future models and details in their exact real-world locations, allowing us to create a near-perfect match of the jet.
One of our most anticipated features, airdrop functionality, is nearing release. This system is as accurate as we were able to make it, and follows nearly the exact sequence and logic as in real life, featuring callouts, lights, and drop cues. We have created both an automatic, waypoint-based drop mode, as well as a manual, pilot-activated mode.
But does it reverse thrust to go backwards??
Yes, reverse thrust does function in the air for tactical descents
