Just curious if there is some mechanical indicator in the cockpit I’m missing. There doesn’t appear to be an indicator light or gage to indicate the gear is down and locked and no warning horn. Looking out the window won’t tell me the gear is locked down. The fact that there is no audible indication of gear extension or retraction is rather disappointing. Thanks.
Sorry my bad. I’m new to the C-46 and I’ve been checking myself out in the Army OD version and haven’t looked at the other version cockpits. Maybe they have some kind of indicators.
As best I recall, In the standard version I haven’t seen any lights showing the gear status, even though I believe it had them IRL. The only way I can see which way they are is the handle position, which doesn’t specifically mean the gear is locked.

Not only is there no sound and no indicators. Sometimes you go “Gear Down” and they don’t extend. So you REALLY have to check visually.
