:white_check_mark: ISSUE DESCRIPTION

  1. Did you remove all your community mods/add-ons? If yes, are you still experiencing the issue? Yes

  2. If applicable, which aircraft is experiencing this issue: C172 “Basic”

  3. Description of the issue: After powering on the aircraft the flaps do not operate when setting via the flaps switch.

:white_check_mark: FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

How often does this occur for you? (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently) Every time

:white_check_mark: REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue.

  1. Load C&D
  2. Power on aircraft
  3. Operate flaps switch and note no change in flaps position
(Given this and the three other electrical system bugs I’ve written up for the C172 Basic, it probably has more and should be thoroughly looked over)

:white_check_mark: YOUR SETTINGS

If the issue still occurs with no mods and add-ons, please continue to report your issue. If not, please move this post to the User Support Hub.

I have the same issue. The flaps do not move visually on the default C172 in MSFS 2024. However my Turtle Beach Yoke shows that the flaps are getting extended/retracted. I am not completely sure that the flaps affect the plane. It might just be a problem with the animation.

I have just seen the problem on PC, but I also think I saw it on XBox Series X.

This is ridiculous.

I think I have a partial fix to this. I had exactly these problems with the aircraft I use most: Cessna 172 G1000 and Caranedo Cessna 182 RG II. I also lost all avionics shortly after the flight started. Sadly, I can’t get the flaps on the steam gauge Cessna 172 to work.
Peripherals (like my Thrustmaster Airbus TCA Throttle Quadrant that I use for all aircraft) get automatically entered into the devices list under Controls. They inherit lots of complex bindings. It is conflicts from these that are causing my avionics and flaps issues.
To resolve it, I started with a clean (i.e. empty of bindings) profile. Under the Airplanes Controls, duplicate the none (i.e. all empty) profile to a new one (e.g. I call mine GA TCA Throttle from scratch) and start putting just the wanted bindings in to this. Use the built-in profile as a reference source if you’re not sure how to bind a particular button or lever. Be sure to get things like input repetition, set inverted axis, set control on release correct.

Test the new bindings. For me, the flaps now work correctly as do the avionics. I hope this works for you too. If it does, you might want to copy the profile to other (or all) aircraft.

When I first got 2024, and in my initial moments with it, I went straight to my control profiles and cleared every default profile and created my own, with the exception of the keyboard and mouse controls. I don’t have any conflicts, I’ve checked for them. I also do not have any electrical and/or avionics power bindings set. I use a mouse to turn them on in the virtual cockpit, so that isn’t an issue for me either.

I still had this issue.

You are certain you have the flaps working in the steam gauge 172?

Argh, no, I did it with the 182 and the G1000 172. Sorry for adding to the confusion. It solved the 182 problem, but not the steam gauge 172. Should I delete the post?

You could edit it to clarify the error, but I’m pretty sure it will be okay.

They will read our posts, too.

Yes.

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:

In addition to the flaps, most of the other electrical items seem to not work on the steam gauge 172. The GNS 430 comes online just with the Master switch, but the lights, starter, GNS 530 all do not work.

If relevant, provide additional screenshots/video:

Note the positions of the master and avionics switches in this screenshot, and the lack of anything but the GNS 430 display among the avionics stack.
