When mapping an Alpha Flight Controls switch to MASTER BATTERY ON & MASTER BATTERY OFF the Standby Battery switch toggles with Master Battery switch on the C172 G1000 NXi. Standby switch does operate independantly to Master switch on the aircraft panel with mouse control.

Are you using Developer Mode or made changes in it? No
Remove the current assignments first for whatever toggles you are going to use
For the filter select all, then go find Set Battery 2 (standby) and Set Battery 1 (Master) and assign as needed. Then you will have a standby battery and master battery that actual works like it should.
I have my first red toggle as Standby Battery and the second one as Master
