Description of the issue:
I Canˋt release the parking brake to start taxi

If applicable, which aircraft is experiencing this issue:
C172 Asobo G1000

  1. I start the walk around
  2. removed the chocks and check most of the points
  3. entering the cockpit, start the engine

I have tried different Bindings, also the standard keyboard binding.

It’s not the parking brake. it’s some other issue.

My experinces today:

1: Taxied to holding point at MZBZ in C172 and suddenly plane decided to “glue” itself. toggling all brakes and I could not recover.
Restarted then taxied fine and took off.

2: did a 2 hour flight and upon landing plane immedietly came to a stop and could no longer move. cycling all brake controls had no effect.

i lost the reward for a 2 hour flight in career because of this.

3: another 2 hour flight in C172 and yet again plane got stuck on runway due to some kind of brake glitch - could not release after landing.

This is an issue which also affected certain versions of the C172 in MSFS2020 as well, but it appears to now be happining in MSFS2024 as well.

The skid marks behind the tires show the tires were in full lock at landing - I just cannot finish my mission now. This is super frustrating as I have now done three 2 hour flights in a row for my plane to get stuck.

I have the same problem. Believed it was due to maintanence, sold my plane and bought a new one, yet same problem. Taxi to first stop, then cannot release brake. Right wheel is locked with clear skidmark.

Unplayable for me now, and i dont dare do other mission either if its not fixed and i have to start all over again.

When your plane gets stuck like that, try the translate position function and maybe move it up a little in the Y axis and see if it breaks free. This worked for me the one time I got stuck. It looked like my wheels were slightly sunken into the ground and this fixed it.

• Thank you for the tip. Could not find how to slew, but i deleted my right toe brake and it worked. Seems like i have to take P brake on and off and it released. My TPR rudder is brand new, so hope its not it. Have to try on DCS later.

Have you checked all other peripherals / devices that they don’t have anything brake related configured? I use Alpha + Bravo as my main controls but also have a joystick and Xbox controller connected and those somehow interfered with my brakes and rudder until I removed all those assignments on them. Might want to double check what input profiles are used for each devices when using the 172 and what assignments are active there.
