Dear all,
according some Office documents I found, the C208B has more flaps positions, then the MSFS Model.
What is correct?
Dear all,
according some Office documents I found, the C208B has more flaps positions, then the MSFS Model.
The flap positions you have shown above are correct for the original C208 Caravan, & the C208B Grand Caravan. These aircraft both had the following flap positions:
UP
10°
20°
30°
Changes were made with the introduction of the C208B EX model, which is what is simulated in MSFS. This model has the following flap positions:
UP
TO/APR
LAND
The following image from the FAA TCSD (type certificate data sheet) shows the angular position of these newly named flap settings. (Basically the original 10° & 20° positions have been replaced by a single position at 15°)
So, whilst MSFS has managed to get a lot of things incorrect, in this case they have it right.
Thanks a lot!
But, in the cockpit are the flaps-markings in more then 3 positions
Up
10
20 (TO/A)
full (LAND)
in this case they are WRONG.
Yep, looks like the 3D modelling is slightly incorrect. There is a weird hybrid of 208B markings on the left, and 208B EX markings on the right.
Here’s the center console from a 208B EX for an example of what it should look like.
Yeah, those intermediate markings are definitely incorrect for the EX model. Here’s a clear photo I took in the plane (2017 C208B) the other day.
Thank you @Norman999933 @PilotTrev for the real life pictures!
I just checked, this 3D modelling bug is still present.
It currently has the EX markings but with the non-EX flap lever detent position.
Issue fixed since build 1.36.2.0.
