C208B Grand Caravan EX Mods General

That’s tricky.
I’m using Spad.next to assgin the commands to the individual planes, because it cahnges automaticaly with the choosen plane.
For the Asobo C208B I use via simconnect CABIN_LIGHT_ON and CABIN_LIGHT_OFF

The cabin light are working, only the switch on the virtual panel is not moving.

Using the MSFS Mapping, the switch moves and the lights work too.

Cons: Manual change of the Yoke-profile inside MSFS accoding the choosen plane

Hi Newo
First of all, thank you for keeping alive the mod.

I’ve just downloaded this new version. I’ve deleted the previous version in the community folder and copy this new one. But, in the sim, in the turboprop section, only see one Caravan. I suppose it’s the default version.

I’ve tried to reinstall the previous version and it appears correctly (as mod version).

Regards

@SlizgajPieroga I just updated the git repository with the new alarm when both fuel selectors are off. Thanks for the link! The new version is on the git experimental branch - the same link as above.

@maddormo, please note that the above link downloads git repository. you need to unpack it, then open it and copy only C208B-mod sub-directory to community folder.

Sorry, my fault, I directly unpacked into the community folder. Now it appears correctly. Thank you!

With the “experimental version”, however, all the liveries are not available, or has that changed in the meantime?

good point. With the migration to the separate folder, liveries stayed with the original aircraft. this may
be tough to solve.

@DAQUA3828 you can check out the latest version from the link above. It should work for you now.

Hi @PilotTrev, could you get the proper fire alarm recording for Cessna, please? I have a problem finding it on any recording on youtube.

Hi,
the cabin light switch is now working. Thanks for your effort!
Only the additional liveries and the sound mod from FTSIM* dosen’t work. I assume, because it’s for the sim a new plane

Yes, we can’t have everything. It is either.

  1. compatibility with blacksquare, FTSIM for original cessna, and possibly other mods for cessna
  2. or having liveries

FTSIM for mod is not an option as it blocks any improvements for people who did not pay for it (as far as i know it right now).

There you have… but for only tiny moment: 13:20

shouldn’t it be a two-tone signal?

Unfortunately for some either of these choices is a big compromise. Particularly those that have the Black Square and love their liveries. Shame it can’t work with both.

Sure -

My way here is using Addon Linker. I can choose which plane, mod, livery,… is linked to the community folder. I build some presets for the C208B.

According the sound-mod, it should be possible to copy the files into the FTSIM mod folder and modify the jason-file…but how?

Yes you can work around it somewhat with Addon Linker but it doesn’t solve the liveries not working with this mod now that @NewoPL has separated it. Perhaps leaving it linked to the default aircraft and just managing the community folder may of been a better solution.

I switched back to the previous version. Waiting for the next release

Thank you!. I updated the plane on the experimental branch.

Howdie! I was wondering if any additional work on the Anti-icing system has been done? For the life of me I can’t get the windshield to clear at all. Even with the anti-icing switch set to max and flipping to windshield or airframe… nadda. Make flying in winter weather a “real pain” unless you are true IFR from ground to air.
