Hello fellow Flight Sim Players,
I have an Issue with my X56 that I hope someone can point me in the right direction:
When I play MSFS2024 I have some Issues currently that are impacting my Gameplay and make it very hard to play the Game:
I cant move the Camera (Internal and external, not while walking) with my Mouse e.g. to zoom in on Controls etc. I have to use the litte Stick on the Joystick to move the Camera and then zoom in with my Mousewheel, which is quiet annoying. However in some of the Training Missions for the PPL it works as in 2020, where I can switch to Mouse Mode and control the Camera via my Mouse. Is that an Option? Since I could not find it
The 2nd Issue is the most “severe”. The Camera is always moving “down” and I have to manually readjust the Camera every ~ 10 Seconds as the view has traveld from center to down to the yoke in that time. I already found a post from the Alpha Build that suggested increasing the Deadzone of the View Axis, however that did not fix this Issue for me. Also this does not seem to happen when just walking around the plane
My last Issue is that all planes seem to have a huge tendency to go to the left, so much so that I basically have to manually correct every 1-2 seconds even when I use trim etc. I first thought its me and not playing MSFS for a few months, however in 2020 its far less. Is that a config thing or just the new Physics? I tried Deadzone and recalibrated the Joystick with the logitech Software that comes with it to no sucess, the Sensor says the stick is dead center and has no wiggle (tried the different springs as well).
It mostly seems to me as the calibration x56 and MSFS2024 do not seem to want to work togehter for some reason.
Also is there a way to export the Controls from 2020 to get them to 2024 or use the 2020 Defaults in 2024? As e.g. Flaps and Trim are on completly different buttons in 2024 as they are in 2020 and I dont really want to reconfig the button mapping if avoidable
Thanks for the time and help if someone has a hint
I just want to chime in here and say that I also am having this exact issue with my mouse, X-56, and MSFS 2024. For me it is frustrating to the point of being unplayable.
I saw a video on you tube where the poster set a dead zone in the stick to 0.1 ( settings /controls / Saitek Pro Flight x-56 Rhino stick ) and then ( H ) Hardware ( bottom right.
I set mine to 0.05 and it seemed to help.
Out of curiosity, does the Trim regulation via the Knob on the Trusterpart of the X56 work for you? I have configured to use the Knob on the bottom for Trim Adjustment (the one on the Trottellever itself that is on the bottom Side) and while FS2024 does recognize it in the Settings Menu I cant control the Trim (already checked the Assist options etc).
So I tried another Solution just now. In the Options under Camera there is a “Center Camera” Option, if you put that from “Manual” to “Auto” then you dont have the drift, however you still cant use Cursor Mode in the Cockpit at all.
It also seems that other Stuff with the X-56 is completly broken like e.g. my Flaps randomly increasing / decreasing (I use the little lever on the back of the X-56 trottel for that) and Trim wont work as well (at least for me) with the Knob on the Bottom Side of the Trustlever (MSFS2024 does correctly recognice the Axis when configuring it).
I like the new Features of the 2024 but the Control Options, especially for a Popular one like the x56, are just horrible
Yea its still completly broken, also for a lot of players over on Reddit.
MS already said next weeks Update (I think Dec. 9th?) is focused on Bugfixing, but they didnt even put the various Joystick Bugs in the “Known Issues” of the FS2024
For your mouse issue, I hold down the right mouse button and then the mouse moves the view in walkaround in the cockpit and external view, I don’t recall specifically setting that up so should be default.
Your second issue is the small thumb joystick. I had the same issue. Goto control settings, select the joystick and then search by input, move the little stick, then remove it from everything.
The roll issue I think is correct and is caused by engine/propeler torque. I could be wrong though.
you have to set the dadzone on the headswitch cockpit view yaw and external view Yaw. that fixed the issue for everybody i know including me with an X56
What Deadzone do you use? I use 0.05 to 0.5 but had no luck.
I will try that later.
A Question when you have a X56: Does your Trim / Flaps control work with the Truster? I have the Flaps on the little Switch at the Back of the Trottle and I use the downside Knob on the Truster itself for Trim. My new Issue is that while the downside Knob axis get correctly assigned in the Options (as Axis - and +) It does nothing in the Sim itself.
Also my Flaps randomly extend and redact in the flight, but I dont touch the Button.
I remember I had Issues when using my X56 with a USB Hub with Random Button activation but I only use direct connections to the PC via USB since.
Do you have this Issue?
I thought that the little Joystick Calibration would be the Issue. I will try applying deadzone and fix it that way because I like the little stick for view.
If it does not work I will go ahead and unbind it.
Regarding the flaps, I have different settings.
For STOL, I have my flap Axis set to the left Throttle. That way I can react quickly.
For all other planes, I have flaps set to one of the SW switches
I never had any problems with that.
The Trim I have set on the wheel on top of the throttle.
The scroll wheel to the left is just on a very unpractical position, so I don’t bind this one. In general, I have no bindings on the buttons on the back of my throttle, since I keep pressing them on accident or so. Hope that helps
Hi,
thanks for the explenation. I have my Trim on the downside Knob on the trottel (so basically the one below the one you use) and despite getting recogniced in the controls binding I dont have any Trim.
I will change my setup and play around. If I still encounter Issues I might suspect a faulty Trottle or a overloaded USB.
