I am running MSFS with sim update 12 and five monitors. I just replaced the monitor I use for instrument pop outs and Air Manager panels with a Dell 24 inch touch screen monitor. When I try to pop out instruments, either manually in the simulator or by using MSFSPopoutPanelManager.exe the G1000 panels apparently pop out but I can’t find them on any of my monitors. I suspect that because of the new auto-pop out feature on update 12, they are “popping” to a monitor I am no longer using. Can I turn off auto-pop out in MSFS so I can just use PopoutPanelManager to work with the monitors I currently have?
Hello,
Welcome back to the forums!

I don’t know anything about Popout Panel Manager, but Sim Update 12 introduced a feature where it remembers where you popped out your panel. Unfortunately, I am not sure how to get them back.
Has anyone else encountered this?
Make sure you have the latest version of Pop out Manager installed as SU12 introduced a new pop out method which broke it.
If you have the latest, and are still getting the window disappearing after pop out, you may need to create a new plane profile and pop them out and re-set them where they need to be.
Latest version:
have you tried without this 3rd party app running?
i dont think the game would ‘hide’ the popouts like that and i know it has no ‘auto-popout’ feature
this sounds more like an issue with that 3rd party app saving some data it shouldnt, the game would use the windows designation for monitors so replacing one would not matter -it would still output to w/e windows says is monitor 2 or w/e ‘windows monitor’ you used the first time
i have 4 monitors (1 new) and have never seen anything like this before or after update12
The issue was introduced with SU12 and the popout “feature”. The problem is when the monitor goes away or changes as the position is remembered within MSFS.
A few users have come across this and had to remove the data from the cloud.
Click again on the empty screen or main monitor and your view will show up again ready to be moved.
I tried the following and nothing worked:
- I tried pop-out in MSFS with no addons running. Didn’t help.
- I installed Air Manager 2 latest Version. Didn’t help.
- I tried a different C172 livery. Didn’t help.
- I tried a different aircraft. Didn’t help.
- I tried clicking on all monitors after selecting pop-out panels. Didn’t help.
Before I try uninstalling and reinstalling MSFS 2020 any other suggestions?
I am using PC. Data is not in cloud it’s on my PC but I have no Idea where.
I think you are confusing “the cloud” with cloud gaming.
Your settings are absolutely stored in the cloud. That’s why your profile and settings get saved / carried over if you move platforms.
Do a search on the forum. Another user had this issue a week or two ago and found where it was saved.
Any suggestions for a good search stream? I have had no success. Maybe I am about as proficient at navigating this forum as I am with MSFS.
Well, deleting ALL my cloud data fixed the pop out problem. I had to throw out the baby with the bathwater! It’s going to take a long time to set up the sim the way it was. I suspect my 600 hours of log-time are also missing but I haven’t had the heart to check. I would suggest to anyone else with the problem that you keep searching. There had to be a better way! This whole fiasco would have been avoided if MS had not have created that auto save feature. It wasn’t needed. The free third party pop-out manager was working very well.
Sorry for late reply,
Here was the thread with the fix.
