So today, I had once again that random bug where, when I go back to the cockpit from the external view, I get the inflated pilot, and everything is frozen: all the gauges are frozen, and I can’t click on any button.
When this happens, for some reason a few minutes later, things come back to normal (sounds like some uninitialized variable somewhere). However this time, the mouse right click which is used for moving my head (aka rotating the camera view) no longer works. It does work in the external view, and it also works with my joystick, but not in the cockpit with the mouse. Worse, restarting the game doesn’t solve the problem.
I have exactly the same two problem as you.
For the clicking buttons not working I have the issue with airliners not g.a. airplanes.
The moving camera issue is juste after the last update…
I sadly cannot find any solution or workaround…
I have no idea if this is the same problem as you, but since the last update, when I hold down my right-mouse button to move the camera view around the cockpit, nothing happens. It had always worked before, but just stopped. The ‘fix’ if you want to call it that was to toggle the middle mouse button. When I clicked that, it began to work again. Of course then the camera went all over the place as I moved my mouse and I had to click it again to toggle it back, but at least it worked.
If that’s not your problem, I apologize. I hope this helps.
You might want to try to reset your camera settings in the general options. Then also reset the camer in the top menu bar as well to bring everything back to the default settings.
Not sure what “Home cockpit mode” is, because my game is in french, but someone suggested looking at the Cam config in the upper bar, and indeed, the cam was “fixed” !
So just changing that and all was back to normal again !
Thank you all !
I’ve not seen this freeze on going in/out of cockpit. But this sounds familiar: since the March update I do have an issue with returning after long photography breaks with the drone camera. When I return in cockpit and plane is on the ground, I find Throttle off and there is no Control-E to start the engine. Instruments frozen. No other choice than Restart… or did I miss a little fuel safety pin or something eager to learn…
Anyway, another camera thing (since UK-update?) I noticed is Control-left for look left and Control-right don’t work anymore. I have to set the camera free, point at the window and define a camera key preset.
Yeah home cockpit messes it up… AND make sure you Search your Control Settings, to check if your old key bindings are still there !
The only way I could solve the issue was to nuke my profile data. A simple reinstall didn’t solve anything.
Several clues showed that the profile data have been corrupted, the most obvious one being erratic behaviour of the mouse in the options window and sometimes disappearing in the lobby. So what I did was right click on the MSFS icon in the run menu, select “application parameters” or something like that, and in the open windowed select “reset”. This erases the profile data and reinstalls the game (I didn’t want to reinstall the game a second time, but no choice).
You don’t lose your most important informations as they are saved in the Microsoft servers but this resets the game to a fresh clean state.
