Can not find a working Anti-Aliasing Mode

Like the title says, I can not find any AA Mode which really works, since either it is completely useless or bugs out on specific Things which kill all Enjoyment on the MSFS’ Graphics:

  • FXAA: Useless, just smudges the Screen and does not kill the Jaggies.
  • DLAA: Just does not deliver any meaningful Result. Could be useful, if the Quality/Sampling could be increased.
  • TAA: Great Mode, if it would not totally bug out on some Building Fronts, Jetway Edges, etc. It is flickering so massively that it is really annoying. Yep, I played around with SecondaryScaling. The Shadows it creates (Light Pols in front of Clouds) would be bearable.
  • DLSS: Great Mode, if it would not make all Screens (Cockpit as well as GSX’ Docking System) hard to read or even unreadable. Besides that: not really reasonable on my System, I don’t need to save Resources with rendering in a lower Resolution (1440p with a RTX4080). Also kind of a joke from Asobo: It has to be trained for the Application and somehow they forgot there a Screens in the Cockpit?!
  • DL-DSR: Works, but does not deliver a good Job (like TAA if it would not bug out)
  • FSR2: Ironically the “best” Mode on my non-AMD System xD It is just that I have light flickering on some Lines and Text on the Screens. But at least it is not as hard so that it can be ignored while Flying.

So given the Options … did anyone manage to get FSR2 to work (on a Nvidia GPU) without that flickering on the Screens?

It is somehow funny, that I have a better AA Experience in Prepar3D than in MSFS, because there I can just “overkill” it 8xMSAA + 8xSGSSAA ^^

May I ask if you have resolved it

Since MS/Asobo still hasn’t learn that Airplanes have Displays und updated any of their AA Modes to the current State of the Art, unfortunately no.
(But they do learn to be fair - so maybe MSFS 202x or 203x ?)

It is still up to one’s personal Preference which evil is lesser imho. For me at the Moment that is DL-DRS + DLSS Quality + SecondaryScaling 125%. That Way the Blurriness is reduced for “good flyable” State and DLSS in General does not “freak out” as much as TAA.
Generally, SecondaryScaling seems to fix some of the AA Issues, but it is heavy on CPU/GPU - or put differently: it eats Frames. I just found (for me) that I need less SS with DLSS as with TAA.
