I am so confused. All i want to do is use CURRENT live weather, but be able to change the time without that switching it to historical weather.
is that even possible in this new sim? If not, that is an actually ridiculous oversight. any help appreciated, hoping i just missed something.

Does not seem to be possible right now. If you turn back time, you also turn back the weather and you don’t have live weather.
This is a problem when using for example Simbrief for flight planning as the winds will be different…
It seems they messed up the idea of historical weather completely. You should be able to choose any time of the day and still get live weather, like it was in all Simulators i used before. Historical weather is a nice addition, but please make it independent of the time you set in the sim.
Agreed… for people flying on Vatsim it is CRITICAL to have live weather, even if you change the time of day.
I agree. It basically prevents any user from setting their own local time, but also having live weather while exploring different locations around the world.
The thing that we can’t use live weather with any time of the day is a no go. I believe that most of us are using the flight sim, at night after work, and we change from night to day time. That didn’t exist in any Sim in the past. So now in 2024 we should pay for new weather applications!
