On Longitude, the TOGA button on the throttle levers, I don’t know when to use it. TO means takeoff, but when I click it at takeoff it’s not even clickable. Thanks in advance.
It is not active on all planes, sounds like that is one of them.
I’m pretty sure it doesn’t do anything in the Longitude. I don’t know how / if it works in the airliners as I don’t fly them.
To Go Around, are you flying in the Airbus? It’s part of the FMS where it will provide the input for a go around, it’s telling the engines through the FADEC system to apply the safest maximum power at the AC current weight, atmospheric conditions etc in it’s most basic terms, because on approach down to minimums the engine management is still controlling the thrust.
I don’t fly tube liners anymore, but I wouldn’t of thought this feature would be implemented in the default aircraft, it’s a very sophisticated system normally only implemented on good quality add on AC.
Hitting the TOGA button will cause the plane to fly the “go around” flight path in the defined flight plan. It will accelerate, emergency climb, and then follow a predefined holding pattern. In the holding pattern you would then setup for your next attempt. I don’t believe it’s implemented, but a number of mods have worked on adding it.
IRL TOGA will do different thing for different planes
but in general
for planes that DONT have AUTO THROTTLE
Flight director will be put at something like 15 degree pitch up
for planes that have AUTO THROTTLE
usually you will advanced throttle at something like 50%, than AT will advance to max takeoff power
- in the sim its not working like that
