I am trying to gather support for a GA aircraft developer to create a MSFS “native” Aeronca 7AC Champ. Indications I’ve received on this forum and others is that it would be popular, but I’m sure a developer would like to know what the market is before investing resources. A poll of MSFS users might provide that data, that I can then provide to various developers in enticing them to take that project on.
Is there a way that I can do that here on this forum?
I’ve already tried posting a wishlist item back in 2021 which hasn’t proven useful.

Click on the gear cog. If you don’t see the option for polls, then it will be a permission issue.

Title: Poll for Aeronca Champ development
Background: The Aeronca Champ was a tail dragger SEL basic trainer that was popular in the 40’s/50’s/60’s. It had numerous improvements over the Piper Cub. The Cub was essentially a “Gen-1” trainer, where the Champ was “Gen-2”. Info about the Champ can be found via Google and YoutTube.
Question:
If an Aeronca Champ were available for MSFS with good visuals and accurate flight characteristics would you purchase it (assuming a price under $30)?

Isn’t $30 max price a bit low for what you’re asking?
Maybe the answers should be more like:

- I’d pay $35
- I’d pay $40
- I’d pay over $40
Thanks. I’m going in for back surgery tomorrow, so won’t be able to continue this until next week. I will do as you suggest. I have some ideas to flesh out describing the Champ for those not familiar with it. As I said, it’s a much improved Piper Cub. I don’t want to get into that comparison, but will provide a bit of history.
Here I am flying an Aeronca Champ in 1962.

I envision a flood of requests for you to create polls for all the wishlist planes out there. It’s your time, so I’m not arguing against it. Just that more generalized polls like your ‘Top Ten’ are much less granular, and thus more useful than a hundred individual pet projects.
That’s just my ha’pence on the subject.

The only poll I will be doing is for the Aeronca Champ. It’s on my bucket list to be able to fly it again before I die, but in MSFS. To achieve that desire someone has to create it first. That is my goal.

LOL. I didn’t mean YOU would be asking for a poll for all your wishlist airplanes. Just that creating one for a single airplane might open up the floodgates.

No, it will be an official MSFS forum poll after @Baracus250 creates it below my first post in the thread. It may take him a while. Bear with us. I don’t have the trust to do a poll myself.
They don’t trust me enough to make a poll either. In fact, Baracus is the only non-staff guy I’ve seen make them.
