In 2020, we could actually pause the entire simulation. Time wouldn’t advance, and fuel wouldn’t burn. I just tried my first airliner flight in 2024 but had to step away for a while. I paused the game, but when I returned, the clock was still going and my A320 was almost out of fuel.
Can we please have this work the way it did in 2020? It also makes Volanta’s remote pause function useless.
MSFS 2020’s SET PAUSE ON and SET PAUSE OFF commands are very different that PAUSE via the toolbar. I recall a great post explaining this which I belive is in our Forum’s GUIDE section. I am also curious about how or if these transferred to 2024. Thanks. --Redeye
This is really bothering me that we still don’t have a proper pause.
This did not pause the time. No idea why people would even want time to go on while they’re paused. If they do they could just enable real time when they unpause. Please Microsoft! I’ve even tried to fix this via the SDK, and it’s not possible.
Which one is active pause in 2020? I think you can tinker with the aircraft/avionics but fuel and flight time freeze, but weather and traffic continue on. I don’t think I’ve ever paused much longer than what it takes to walk the dog or put the kid back to bed though.
I read on another forum (out of respect won’t say where), that this doesn’t exist apparently because MS/Asobo "wants it to be a multiplayer environment ". I’m sorry to everyone who want to think that this is a hifi simulator, but it’s a game. We all have real lives, if I get caught up in something I should be able to hard pause EVERYTHING in the sim. When I come back, everything should be how I left it.
Don’t really understand how this is a lot to ask for. Should have been in the sim from day 1. 4 years later we are still asking.
