Cannot Assign Keybindings

strange issue here, i cannot reassign keybindings for keyboard, mouse, etc. In the controls menu, i select the grey rectangle to the right of the action. there are 3 options that pop up:

  1. clear current input
  2. cancel
  3. validate

Above those three options is a blank grey square. There is no option to change the keybinding or add a new one. Anyone else experiencing this?

Click on “Seach by Input”

Then push a key. shift for example

Then click validate. Thats it

thanks for the reply. so that’s the issue. the two boxes above the blue ones are blank.

meaning there is no “select an input” box or the one above it. just a large blank rectangle…

I think I have the same problem if i just press the key on the keyboard it gives me an error along the lines of “that device is not selected”

Make sure your not holding down the button and also try hitting it twice before hitting validate. I had to do that for my HOTAS yesterday.

You will get that message if you are configuring the keyboard and try to select a button on the joystick for example. Make sure you have the peripheral you’re trying to use selected along the top … each is managed seperately.

The configuration system is a bit mind-bending at first, but I’m appreciating it more as I get used to it.

Only thing it won’t let you do, is to set a single config by airplane … has to be done by peripheral. Suspect this will seem a pain to some, but is probably pretty flexible when we get used to it.

UPDATE: i restarted the sim, updates drivers, then reloaded game. now the keybinding input is working agaon

Can you assign a key combination on the keyboard? e.g. shift 1? If you can, will it work for the controllers as well as the keyboard?

I have this issue occasionally as well. The boxes to click on are just missing. Restarting the game has fixed it so far.

That is a long process! I’ll try it anyway. Do you know what the second column of assignments are?

“way” not “why”?

i believe just a secondary why to execute commands?
