Cannot click on Start

Hi,

I have now reinstalled MSFS 2024 twice, but I can’t get past the screen where it says Quit to desktop, Accessibility, Start.

the system either does not show my mouse at all or the mouse is visible in the active msfs screen, it is visible but the buttons don’t react, sometimes the buttons react on hover, but i cannot click (well I can but nothing happens). Short of reinstalling Windows, I’m running out of ideas what to do next. It did work but i couldn’t get an addon to work, so I thought i might start MSFS 2024 fresh, but now I can’t even properly get in the main menu. Any help is appreciated.

Ok, eventually the sim crashed, triggered safe mode, which let me enter main menu, from now on it seems to be working (knock on wood). (community folder was empty, but if it’s working now, I’ll be happy.

Working in Safe Mode means that you have (or had) a mod conflict.
One of your addons is not playing nice with the sim, or another addon.

i went to change the mod folder to my other hard disk, i thought also that maybe there was something left in the one after installation, but one was empty as well, anyhow, happy it works now again.

No it doesn’t, it means that the Sim shut off either incompletely loaded or in some way it doesn’t expect. Safe mode disables all third party addons and mods, but isn’t itself an indicator of a mod conflict. You can trigger safe mode without any mods installed whatsoever simply by using task manager to shut it down before it’s finished loading.

Yes, that is indeed true.
However, when that happens, the first thing to check for is a conflcit, every time, unless you know 100% for sure it isn’t!

Problem is back after I tried to install flow and chase plane. Unfortunately, I didn’t install them one by one to see which one is the problem… But at least I have it narrowed down.

I’m so frustrated, I did set windows back completely now but it still doesn’t work… stuck in the first screesn…

this is so messed up, I was totally looking forward to fly the P.180, thing is, after getting into safe mode, i was able to do a proper restart, menu is very smooth all nice, i install the P.180 and i select it, cannot click on anything anymore, just like before… wtf

OK, i thought, i do a proper windows reinstall, clean my c drive where it used to live. When i start FS2024 after new installation, first time it remebers that last time there was a problem if i should start in safe mode. Is it possible there is stuff stored in the cloud? How can i erase that?

and even now, i cannot click on start, haven’t even installed any addon or anything

Yes there is a cloud save.

I did that and at least for now it was ok, don’t have time right now for more testing but I was able to load the Piaggio.
