I am trying to set up my Thrustmaster Hotas X to fly the Cabri helicopter, but just cannot fathom the control settings. For example, I want to set button 5 to ‘Toggle autopilot master’ - which I have done. But this button is also assigned to ‘Set Gear’. So I select the small wheel next to that control, and hit ‘delete assigned control’ then ‘Go back’. The screen shows that is still set to button 5. It seems I cannot delete anything that I assign. Also I’ve set the hatswitches to various trim settngs, but when flying the Cabri these settings are ignored and the hatswitch settings in ‘General Analog’ are used. Obviously I really don’t understand how these key assigment works! Can someone enlighten me? How can I delete settings? How can I make it only use Helicopter settings?
I noticed this also while trying to change some binds recently, but assumed I was doing something incorrectly. I feel like I remember being able to delete binds this way previously. Maybe a bug?
I also saw that while mostly I cannot delete bindings, now and again one would work - but I couldn’t see why some would work & others (mostly) not.
There is (or was during SU2… I’ve not specifically checked deleting since SU3 dropped) a bug that when you go “back” from that control-specific cog menu, the list was not visually refreshing itself — but in fact the deletion HAD occurred.
So are you sure it’s not actually deleted? One way you can force a refresh is by going to another device then back to your Hotas to check again.
As for the Trim binds to your hat-switch, the way you describe it didn’t make sense to me. Trim controls would go in the middle category (“Helicopter controls” for helis), not “General”.
Even so, you may be suffering from the same ‘screen not refreshing” bug there too.
