Cannot get into the ATR 42-600 in MSFS 2024

Hi, I have a problem. Everytime I try to get into the ATR 42-600 in MSFS 2024, nothing seems to be working because pressing “Joystick Button 3” to toggle pins is not working and the canopy buttons are not highlighted so I cannot get into the aircraft during “Free Flight”. So is there a way I can do that? Thank you so much for your help.

SHIFT+C is the default hot key binding, which is called something like “take control of character.” That should get you in and out of the plane when on the ground.
