Funny that.

Doesn’t appear to be a skill issue on MSFS2020. I’ve been simming for 10 years and I’ve held a PPL for 2.

Your reply isn’t particularly helpful, and I’m really getting tired of “well it works for me so must be fine”.

How shall anyone realize this from your post with crucial information missing?
Which rate / VS are you climbing? Are you leaning the engine?

I would have said the same, because I managed to get the 172 up to 10.000ft several times.

No I understand, and thanks for your reply. I am just adamant this isn’t a skill issue.

Yep, I’m leaning at around 3000ft all the way up until my RPM peaks.

I’m climbing and maintaining my Vy at around 75kts. My VS is around 700fps up until I hit 9000ft then it drops to around 50. It’s almost as if I hit a glass ceiling every time. No matter my mixture and my Vy.

Ok then it is strange, because I do it about the same. Maybe something wrong with the weather? Which makes no sense as I think you can’t change it in the career missions.

But yeah, does not look like skill issue then

Thanks buddy, that’s what it was.

I headed in the opposite direction to the path and it flew up like a dream.

So annoying, it’s obviously OP wind.

Thanks chaps

I dont have any issues reaching 13500 ft, but it doesnt matter how quick i do it, i always get reputation points knocked off for not doing it quick enough… alos, the flight plan is not even similar to the blue boxes in the sky, that i cant figure out how to turn off.

Try doing the decent very quickly. Like spiral down within the yellow arc fast. I think the quickness points start when the jumpers are out. Plus it’s fun to really push it to get to the ground. The best part of the skydiving missions.

I had this issue and it turns out it was my MIXTURE settings! I neglected to adjust it mid flight. Making the mixture more lean above ~6kft fixed this for me.

Also had the same issue fixed by changing the MIXTURE settings. Thanks!

•Yes

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:
•Even reducing fuel to the bare minimum, the aircraft appears to be to heavy to climb to the correct altitude for the jumps.
