Cannot hear ATC instructions and other aircraft suddenly while AI copilot still responds

Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?

Yes I do.

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:

It seems to be that is mainly on weekends

If relevant, provide additional screenshots/video:

For me it Happens alot when i use FSLTL. Mostly after 5 minutes atc is gone or at least part of it (can’t hear myself)
Today i made a flight with the just flight Traffic program, and atc didn’t drop.
Maybe it was related to the fact that it was early in the morning

It started fine but then after 10 mins ATC voices disappeared, just text. Chang the comm did help once

Starting to wonder, does this problem have with FSLTL to do? Because I have been using FS traffic for quite some time now and have not had this problem. Then a few days ago I switched to FSLTL injector instead of FS Traffic and now problem is back. FS Traffic injects less traffic so that could also be a factor. Anyone else have the same experience?

I have never used FSLTL and I have the problem.

Good to know, then that is not the problem… Could it be something with how MSFS handles live traffic? FS Traffic is based on fixed offline schedules, and FSLTL is based on live online traffic.

I use AIG traffic which is based on offline schedules.

Thanks. Then that is not it. I must have been lucky the last few weeks then. Could have anything to do with to much traffic in the air?

I have had it flying over the Sahara desert with hardly any aircraft or ATC chatter.

Recently, over the last two weeks or so, I did not experience the problem at all, even in hight density traffic, but now it is happening again more often.

Hmm… Then I wonder if it can be a server issue? As I understand the offline voices are not effected?

I suspect a TTS bug.

Isn’t strange it comes and goes?

I believe it is combination of demand on any Azure server coming in from all users of that server with the demand we are putting on the server with our single instance of the sim. It appears that whenever total demand gets high, Azure will start cutting off service to users whether their individual demand is high or low whenever the simultaneous demand of all users is more than that server can handle at any given time.

That would explain why we can lose ATC audio whether flying over the Sahara or in the busy airspace of KLAX during peak hours.

Is this being worked on?

MODERATOR EDIT: Please do not ping team members.

I believe it is now at least been acknowledged as an ongoing problem, which is not saying it is being worked on, but is a bit better than the status shown as of a few weeks ago: “FIXED (No Repro)”

Sometimes it happens when the atc has talked to some ai plane and while it’s waiting for a response, I send some instruction. Seems it just loses track of the situation

CJ4 here, ATC sound goes quiet at random.. I can hear my own commands but not the ATC. Only remedy is a restart of FS 2020 and hoping that it won’t occur again. Since latest update

Are you using Developer Mode or made changes in it?

no

Certainly not, I use add-ons period!

Brief description of the issue:

The ATC sometimes just doesn’t give me a way to respond OR to contact the tower for landing, the options just never appear and I cannot do anything to change it.

For instance, I just got landing instructions and a runway from Newark Tower, lined up, (NO response from ATC) get in the landing path (NO response from ATC), landed (NO response from ATC) exited the runway, and then got “Text” instructions to contact the ground (no audio at all)

So I contact the ground, get parking instructions and all I get is “Say Again” to respond! (see attachment picture)

No sense in bugging the moderators… Two things you need to consider: 1. MSFS 2024 is coming out so why fix it in this version when you can make it better or have a total new system in their latest and greatest and 2. This video says it all in case you haven’t seen it. This bug will probably never get addressed like quite a few of the others.

Hey Monster, good for you who think they are going to improve it, but the change from 2020 to 2024 will be like moving house and leaving the previous one undone. I still see broken jetways, ILS’s misaligned, the airport lighting is a disaster, the ATC translation (in my case Spanish, it’s a horribly mispronounced mix of English and Spanish, considering that sometimes it goes mute) and the same that in X-plane, the community has always been present to improve details that are the task of the simulator developers themselves.
Of course, what stands out the most is the surprising and brilliant work they have done with the avionics. I kneel before that.
With more than 20 years in this, there have been pleasant changes and others to forget. But I don’t believe the story that the current bugs will be fixed in a new version.
Greetings.
