Cannot implement Reverse Thrusters on Saitek Throttle

Are you using Developer Mode or made changes in it?
Not that I know of.

Brief description of the issue:

I am using the Saitek 3-arm Throttle quadrant and the throttle is the left hand lever and works as a forward throttle OK. I can set it up so that when I set the lever in the reverse-detent (below 0% throttle), so that FS2020 will toggle the level to the reverse thrust function using the “Reverse throttle TOGGLE option”. But I want to be able to active reverse thrusters when the lever is in the reverse-detent position, so I want to program the “Hold throttle reverse thrust” option, however it is not working. I have set this option in FS2020 to “z”- doesn’t activate in the plane. I have set this option to “RY” which is the reverse-detent of one of the other levers- doesn’t activate in the plane. I set this option to “T6” which is one of the buttons on the quadrant- This works, however I have to hold T6 and raise the throttle lever to get reverse thrust.

In the Controls section, I have the Saitek Pro Flight Yoke selected, and when I activate the reverse-detent on the throttle, the “Hold Throttle Reverse Thrust” key on the screen lights up. It’s currently set to “z”.

So my question is, how can I get the reverse-detent position of my throttle to put the engines into reverse and keep them there?

Testing on the A320 Neo.

I have implemented reverse thrust without using the Saitek-detent. It acts like a key activation, I don’t think you can use that in de Airbus. So I have just calibrated a spot towards the lower end of the axis-range as the reverse-detent, using the Flypad.

Thanks for your reply. I figgered this one out after trial and error. This is tested in the 747. My aim is to HOLD reverse thrust, so which ever key you use, it must remain in that position WHILE the thrust lever(s) are increased, so it is not possible to use the detent switch on the thrust lever for this as it cannot be in detent while also increasing thrust.

On my Saitek Throttle quadrant, I have 3 controls- thrust lever for all engines (black knob), feather lever (blue knob) and mixture leaver (red knob). Since the 747 does not use the red mixture lever, I programmed the detent on the mixture lever (red knob) as the Thrust HOLD switch, I then use the throttle lever (black knob) to increase thrust. So ultimately, depending on the detent of the mixture lever (red knob) the thrust lever would forward thrust or reverse thrust.

I saw a post somewhere where someone programmed the throttle lever detent switch as the Reverse Toggle, and thus to go into reverse thrust, you would first reduce throttles to zero, push the throttle lever into detent, then push the throttles full then when ready to stop reverse thrust, you would push the throttle to zero again, push the throttle into detent, then put it back to zero. Seems logical, but I was unable to keep track on whether the throttles were in forward or reverse in case I accidentally pushed the throttle into detent and I feel that would be catastrophic in mid flight.
