There was no cover up here. The Community Managers made multiple posts in this very thread to acknowledge the issue, indicate that we have escalated it internally for resolution, and request more information from affected players to assist the support team as they worked through it.
In addition, we also:
- Made a forum thread about this issue and pinned it as a banner to the top of the forums.
- Updated the Online Services monitoring topic to indicate that we are aware of the issue and were investigating.
- Posted a tweet about this issue from our @MSFS_Support Twitter account.
- Mentioned the outage in our weekly Development Update blog post.
