It’s working just fine. Have you changed monitors or monitor assignments. It may be popping out to an area of your display that you can no longer get at. It’s another annoying bug that happens if your display area has changed.

I’m trying to fix this myself. I can pop-out the MFD but I cannot pop out the PFD. It just does a + sign but I can’t find it anywhere. I tried going windowed mode, changing resolutions, trying to change monitors but no luck. I even reinstalled MFS. This worked for me previously but I cannot get it to work now. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I’m having the exact same problem if you solve the issue please let me know

I’m having the same problem how do you find out which display area it has gone to? any help would be greatley appreciated.

Hey John, I did figure this out. What a pain in the butt. I downloaded “msfs pop out panel manager” and was able to get it to identify the different popped out windows and then was able to shift the X and Y to the new positions. I found what happens is MSFS positions windows relative to the main game window, irrespective of the position of your monitors. So if you had a monitor to the right of your main monitor, and popped out the G1000, then repositioned the second monitor to below your main monitor, then the g1000 window would still be popping up on the screen space to the right of the main monitor, even though the secondary monitor is now below the main monitor, so it will pop up off screen and have no option to move it, unless you moved your secondary monitor back to that position, or if you use “msfs pop out panel manager” to reposition the popout windows.

BTW, thanks for this fix. Seems like a reset feature would have been a benefit here.

There is a brand new version 4 of POPM coming very soon so this may prove to help with issues like this.

I’ve had this same problem going on a couple of months now. Uninstalled/reinstalled no difference. All other glass displays work fine including the G1000 mfd.

This is a known MSFS bug — although it was fixed in a previous update, it appears to have returned with a recent one. We are at FlightSimBuilder collected some workarounds which worked for users so thought to share it with broader community.

While this can be a frustrating issue, the fixes listed below usually resolve it.

Below, is a MSFS issue where the users reported not able to popout avionics and some workaround and solutions.

There is no magnifying glass when I try to pop out avionics

First, make sure you are holding the correct ALT which is right of your spacebar. If you can pop out some avionics but not others, try changing the livery of the problematic plane, it reloads the plane and usually solved the issue.

I can see the magnifying glass but I can’t pop out my avionics in MSFS any more

There seems to be a new bug in MSFS after a recent update where when you pop out the avionics, they “show up” outside of your monitor boundaries. Please find below some of the solutions and hopefully it’s something fixed in one of the future MSFS updates.

- The easiest way to fix it is to press ALT+ENT right after you poped out the avionics (even though you can’t see them) before you do anything else.

- If it didn’t work, go to settings and enable “Developer Mode”. Next start the flight and if issues persist, go to dev menu on top and select “Change Aircraft”. You can select the same aircraft but change the livery, in many cases this reloads the plane and fixes the issue.

- If if didn’t work, you can try deleting your your MSFS data.

  • If it doesn’t work, another option is to disconnect all of your monitors after poping out avionics and then connecting only 530 / g1000 unit first before plugging your main monitor back. We found this worked for many folks.
  • If it still hasn’t help, the last resort is MSFS re-install.

Yes, I did, but I just made it work. It is a tricky one, and I feel like I found a bug of the bug.

Another workaround reported by the user

Just in case someone else had this problem:

1. turn on the development mode

2. using the menu drop down for airplane selection

3. as soon as the airplane is loaded, use the right Alt+magnifier to pop it out. Note: you have to make it quick, click the PFD/MFD within a second, then it can pop out. Initially, I waited like 5 seconds to let airplane fully load, it didn’t work.

After this, my G1000 and other avionics can pop out normally without using the dev mode.

If you’re using a FlightSimBuilder TNxi G1000, keep in mind that it includes native avionics profiles that don’t rely on MSFS popouts. This not only provides a smoother experience but also removes the dependency on MSFS popouts altogether.

Currently available native or third-party profiles include:

  • Steam Gauges (Simple)

  • Steam Gauges (Complex)

  • G600Txi (coming November 2025)

  • TDS GTN 750

Using third party software to eliminate the issue

Some users reported using popout manager to resolve the issue. You can find popout manager here
