Cannot program flight in Fenix A320

I can not for the life of me get the flight plan programmed.
I have tried importing a Simbrief plan and inputting it manually.
Every time I get a discontinuity, it does not tell me what is wrong, and I can never figure out how to fix it.
When I click clear on the discontinuity, it tells me NOT ALLOWED.

You should post images of your MCDU LEGS page showing the discontinuities. There are some disco’s that are there on purpose and are part of the instrument procedures that you should not delete.

Discontinuities are often part of a given SID or STAR. In most real world cases this is the point at which ATC would vector you as needed or clear you direct to ___. I believe Dulles is one example where you’d normally be vectored by Departure/Approach controller before leaving/arriving.

Not a huge airbus person but from what i know you can do a direct to the waypoint after the discontinuity and you should be good to go

Discontinuities are there on purpose.
You get vectors from ATC.
In flight sim you can ofc just clear them for convenience.

Thank everyone for the comments.

I will try out the recommendations and see if they help me.

When deleting a flight plan waypoint says “NOT ALLOWED” it is probably part of the runway SID or STAR.
Only custom waypoints can be deleted.

When a flight plan has a discontinuity you just click on the waypoint below and on the multifunction-switch next to the discontinuity - and voilá the flight plan is connected

There are some nice tutorial videos how to enter a flight plan.

I found this very helpful.

I have watched several videos; they show how to fix them but don’t explain what causes the discontinuity.

Thank you

I found some info about discontinuities:

#### Discontinuity

The flight plan might contain so called discontinuities. These are breaks in the flight plan and often separate two flight plan sections like the SID and first in-route waypoint or the STAR and the APPR. They are also often inserted when the flight plan is modified.

Sometimes discontinuities are also part of a procedure to indicate that manual input is required (mostly clearance by ATC). The preceding legs are called MANUAL legs.

So they appear at the beginning and at the end of the flight plan, seperating the SID and the STAR from the rest of the via-skyroads VORs and waypoints…

This is one of the problems I was having.
Now I understand what is going on when I see MANUAL.

Where did you find the article?

Thank you!
