Cannot select Heading with mouse

Hi I am transitioning from MS 2004!! …and having problems using wireless mouse in Xbox.

Having setup 747 -8 with flightplan etc I cannot control the Heading select bug or the Altitude select bug ,rotating the knob is fine though.Left clicking the mouse makes the Select bug light orange momentarily but does not change to Heading mode,same with Altitude.The Xbox controller though works fine.

I have played around with the mouse assignments to no avail …can someone possibly point me in the right direction ( no pun intended) as I am getting nowhere,thank you.

I stumbled across the answer on another post ,so for anyone else unsure it’s left click hold then right click👍
