I am using the Alpha flight controls yoke and Bravo throttle quadrant. Brand-new computer with GTX4070. Everything is working flawlessly including the Logitech radio panel. The only problem I have is that the #1 button on the Alpha yoke is not controlling the PTT function, it was somehow toggling a camera view. I canceled that function, but nowhere in the Radio Controls menu can I find the PTT mike key function. I have searched endlessly, tried the search by input function, etc. My PilotEdge settings have the #1 as the PTT, but it does not key the mike and the PE ATC cannot hear me, although I hear them and everybody else just fine. Is there some random location for the PTT function?
What about Comm 1 Transmit in the MSFS settings?
There is no PTT assignment within MSFS as nothing inside of MSFS would utilize this.
The key bindings for PilotEdge, VATSIM, etc… are through their software / clients.
I use the white button on the left underside of the yolk (removed assignments in MSFS) and it works without issue on PilotEdge and VATSIM.
In MSFS, under control settings, if you select the Alpha, and then search by assignment if you press the key is it coming up with any bindings that maybe didn’t get removed?
Yes it was binding to a Smart Camera toggle that I never used. I removed that binding. In the PilotEdge settings I have Button 1 assigned as PTT, but it doesn’t work. I can hear ATC and other pilots, but still can’t transmit.
That seems to only select Comm 1 for transmit, but doesn’t actually key the microphone. I’ve already tried it.
Just as a means of troubleshooting, have you tried a different button?
Yes I’ve tried all kind of buttons including every key on the keyboard. What I don’t understand is that I flew a lot using PE prior to getting the new computer and I don’t recall encountering this issue. I just set the PE settings as Button 1 for PTT. I’ve tried everything I can think of. It makes no sense that MSFS does not have a binding for such an important function.
It makes perfect sense.
MSFS has no need for a built in PTT option, nothing within the sim uses it natively. Anything that does require PTT, uses an external client that handles the mapping. Even if MSFS had the option, it wouldn’t do any good, you have to set it on the external client.
The fact that you had it working on a previous system (where MSFS also would not have had the mapping) indicates you have another issue going on.
Have you tried re-installing the PE Client? As a test, have you tried Vatsim to see if it works properly?
