Can't connect no matter what!

No live weather, no marketplace, no servers, no multiplayer, etc.

I’m logged in, but other than that im basically “offline”

I’ve logged into my Microsoft Store App and the online one, say there are no updates and or anything. ■■■ is going on here??? The game just greys everything out so you can’t click on anything that would need a connection to do (like the msfs market place or activities) but im currently “Logged In” just like normal. I’ve logged into every Microsoft thing and no issues everything is just as normal except for MSFS and even then it’s all hunky dory except for no live connection to PLAY THE GD GAME!

Apparently there was an “update” yesterday 2/17… This is when this issue started. No, it never gave me the option for and update in when opening the game, and when i go to the Store App on my computer there are no updates, and when I open the game it does not offer any update.

I’ve played Microsoft Flight Sim for 25 years. This very well could be my last straw with this typical Microsoft bs.

Any help/ideas would be greatly appreciated!!!

Go through this procedure.
It is a combination of all the various fixes that have worked for users that have been posted in these forums.
No guarantees, but it may help.

Ensure all addons are removed from the Community folder, and any 3rd party plug-ins such as Navigraph etc., are uninstalled.
Remove any overclocks you have set up.
If you have used the Google map replacement, uninstall it using it’s uninstaller.
Ensure any third party antivirus programs (Avast, AVG, etc) are shut down.
Ensure you have an open path through the Window’s firewall.
Ensure all Windows updates are installed.
Make sure the time and zone in your PC settings are correct.
Sign out of the xbox app on your PC, and shut down Xbox app.
Sign out of MS Store App, and shut down same.
Shut down computer.
Unplug all controllers, except mouse and keyboard.
Restart computer.
Open and sign into Xbox app.
Open and sign into MSStore.
Reboot computer again.
Try sim.
Plug in controllers.

There was no update yesterday. We released a new beta build three days ago for those players who chose to manually opt in to the ongoing Sim Update 8 beta test. Perhaps you’re thinking about that? If you’re not participating in the beta, then there is no update for you to download.

Are you using the beta su8?

If not, I’m guessing you haven’t used msfs in awhile, if you just had a mandatory update.
There was an update su7 last month. It installed a mandatory update plus some non mandatory.
Go to the in game market place and install the missing optional items, if desired.

Then check your content manager for any other updates to installed items.

Yep, did all of that and it worked some how some way. THANK YOU for your help, that was kind of going to be my next step but not in the amount of depth that you listed.

SO many hurdles to jump through for this game sometimes…ugh.

Sorry, you are right it wasn’t a new update it was the beta stuff. I usually log at least a couple hours everyday, so I keep everything up to date. But I did everything TheSevenflyer said and it worked.

I’ve already uninstalled this game a couple of times already from issues and it starts to get old. I feel like Microsoft just created a platform (A greatly improved platform, no complaints about that) that will allow 3rd party devs to take it from here. They released a very large elephant and its a hell of a lot to chew.

Yes, it’s a big list.
There are so many things that can cause it, unless you know which one, you sort of need to eliminate all of them!!
It’s nice to know you are “back in the air” :+1:

Good Flights!

I have exact same problem! I was hesitant to go back to X Plane … Now X Plane 12. Thank you Microsoft ! you guys just made decision a LOT easier. Bye!

I’m having the same kind of issue. Since the latest big update (with the gliders) i can’t connect to any online service. Weather, store, everything is down. I removed my third party folder, but no luck. Any other suggestions?

The Bug Reporting Category is for creating reproducible reports using the provided template. When seeking support, use a sub-category in Community Support.

The “Offline” message in the pic refers to multiplayer, not sim connectivity.

This may help:
In General Options, turn on multiplayer, and you should then be able pick a server from the list in the “Servers” dropdown you displayed above.
Pick the one with the lowest ping number.
Turn multiplayer back off and save changes.
