Hi. I am not seeing how to disable auto-rudder. I found the settings auto-rudder, yoke and AI assisted trim. All disabled.
This happens with the analog C172 and the Carenado 182Q as well.
Full throttle down the runway and the turn coordinator (slip-skid) doesn’t move. I saw the posts related to msfs-2020. Is this still an issue?
I spent a ton on the TM pendular rudder, which is only a toe brake for $700. I’m going to start training in a real 182Q in a few weeks so really need this.
Almost everything working after a month of config! So close… I sure hope there is an easy fix
Cannot replicate. Just tested it with the the C172 Classic. Setting up a perpendicular 15kts crosswind and you see the difference when auto-rudder is enabled and when it is not.
Have you disabled all your addons ?
Thanks for helping. Are you seeing the slip skid indicator clearly moving?
If the slip skid indicator doesn’t move, that with not being able to feel the aircraft move means I’m just guessing with my feet.
On my setup it moves a minuscule amount, which is very different than in a real aircraft.
I don’t have any add-ons other than the carenedo 182q.
I just tried it and it does work.
Just did another test this time in flight with the C152 and you can notice a difference in turns with and without the auto-rudder. Maybe some differences between aircraft exist depending on how devs have setup corresponding parameters and depending of the aircraft itself. I guess only a real pilot on the aircraft could say if the ball movement amplitude is correct or not.
Okay my setup is strange.
Asobo Basic C172, skid-slip ball behavior is now exactly opposite on takeoff roll.
- Solved this. The 182Q requires rudder axis reversed
. It was applied to all aircraft.
- Steep right turn without rudder input, ball is correct
- Steep left turn without rudder input, ball remains centered
Carenado C182Q, barely any movement of skid-slip ball.
- CTRL-P is configured to toggle AUTO-Rudder for some reason, but it pauses (initiates active pause - same in C172). Seems related to the problem.
- P also toggles active pause
Watching the SimHanger Control Menu explanation vid. Didn’t realize I needed a few hours to clear it up.
In his vid, he can switch Control Menu options instantly. I have a super fast machine but wait 3-5 seconds for it to populate. makes it
He commented and says the delay appeared in his install after one of the updates.
I created a ticket with Carenado and will update here.
