Can't find info about importing SkyVector fpl plan into MSFS

Searched the forum but can’t find the answer. Anyone knows how to get this done? I can only download an fpl file…

@JvanE100 For msfs you don’t need to import the flight plan because when you create a flight plan in the simulator it automatically puts in all the right way points and stuff into the fmc so the only thing you have to do is start the autopilot. CORRECT ME IF I AM WRONG PLEASE!

In the plan flight page, there’s a load button at the bottom. You can click it to load the .fpl

DO not assign SID/STAR after, as MSFS will override your imported route with the one they generate (which in UK is almost always incorrect). You can assign stand/runway though without it messing with the imported route.

Hope that’s what you were looking for.

Thanks but that’s not the problem. It is utterly and totally impossible to create a detailed VFR plan in the MSFS planner: getting it in the FMC isn’t a problem because I mainly fly the steam gauge C172.

O LOL I knew that but I didn’t know you could browse to a downloaded fpl. I will give it a try!

EDIT
No, MSFS only accepts FLT and PLN, not FPL… bummer… Guess I need to find another planner then…

Simbrief and Little Nav Map both work well

Looked at Simbrief but it seems unsuited for creating detailed VFR flights, just like the MSFS planner. LNM needs Simconnect and still isn’t officially compatible…? I downloaded and ran it but it didn’t contain any airports to plan with.

Simbrief is IFR, yes. I don’t do much VFR, and I use FltPlan Go when I do. What’s your usual method of setting up VFR in other sims? I’m looking to learn more VFR myself now that it looks so good in MSFS.

I used to use Plan-G but at this moment you need one of the supported sims installed to use it. It can’t connect to MSFS yet and I don’t have any other sims installed so… I’m stuck. LNM seems to work but you need simconnect and that’s buggy with MSFS right now (stutters) and I looked at it but it looks a lot more complicated than Plan-G. Or Skyvector. It’s such a shame the MSFS planner is soooooooo bad and useless for VFR… specially because MSFS is more or less a VFR sim right now…

My goodness… Finally decided to fly the plan as created in Skyvector by simply keeping Skyvector opened on my second screen and follow the rout bu just looking at the map and comparing it with the sims… Turns out my destination, Geilo ENDI, isn’t even in MSFS…!!! Man… we really need a good planner that can connect with the MSFS database because this isn’t working…

Can use Navigraph to export PLN files. If you have Navigraph charts you could just copy/paste your flight plan there and then export it to a PLN.
This is one of the reasons I really really wish the MSFS flight planner just had a text line so I could manually type in a flight plan instead of searching for every freaking waypoint.
