Since I only do it for myself, it’s just a lot easier to go into the original and change a couple of numbers. It takes all of five minutes to repeat the process after an update. As for the DRM planes, I honestly wish now that I’d only bought the base pack, since I almost never fly them. The only mods I’m making are tweaks to the steering angles and ensuring that diff. braking is enabled.
I do have a little experience in addons - I have one at the old flightsim.com site that replaces the stock flashlight with a dim red version to preserve night vision. Direct links there don’t work anymore, so just search my name (Tom Clayton) and you’ll find it, along with a few that I did back in the FS9 days.
