There are a few scenery packs I would like to install but when I went looking for the Community folder, it wasn’t present. Haven’t been able to really find an answer on this so I’m hoping someone can help me out.
So, here’s where my problem lies. I get into the AppData\LocalCache\Packages and “Microsoft.FlightDashboard_8wekyb3d8bbwe” isn’t there. I tired searching for it and tried doing a system wide search and it just doesn’t exist.
Did you set a custom install path for the game? I put the game on my D:/ drive so it’s D:/Microsoft Flight Simulator/Community for me.
I assume you mean AppData\Local.
Microsoft Store or Steam?
I’m not sure if the guide contains a typo or if the Steam version really has the data in the FlightDashboard folder, but for me on the MS Store it’s the FlightSimulator folder you want.
Try going to the start menu, then just pasting this:
%localappdata%\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Community
… and pressing enter. Unless you changed the path during the install, that ought to work. If not try replacing FlightSimulator with FlightDashboard as in the guide and pasting that.
Edit: The forum ate a slash; I fixed the path, so it looks correct now.
Nope, installed it right to my C drive. I just built a new PC with a M.2 SSD so I wanted my OS and games on that drive so I didn’t screw around with any custom install location.
Now, I have a bunch of “Microsoft.xxx” folders in there but none of them are what I’m looking for.
You’re right, I typed it wrong. The guide is correct.
I’ll try all that stuff when I get home. I’m currently at work. I’ll update and let you know what I find.
Thank you.
You know what, now that I’m thinking about it, you may be on to something with changing FlightDashboard to FlightSimulator. I had a bunch of stuff with FlightSimulator but nothing with FlightDashboard. I’ll check it when I get home, you may have hit the nail on the head with this one. Thank you!
I was wrong. I don’t have ANYTHING in that location that has anything to do with Flight Simulator.
Most helpful way of finding that folder… Thanks for posting.
